Management
Management is a process by which a person can manage everything
that is done by individuals or groups. Management needs to be done in
order to achieve the goals or objectives of individuals or groups
cooperatively using available resources.
From this understanding, management science can be interpreted as the
ability to organize something so that the goals to be achieved can be
achieved. In fact, this has often happened in real life. Everyone must have
practiced management science indirectly every day.
In addition, management can also be interpreted according to its
etymology. Management means the art of organizing and executing, based
on old French. Management can also be interpreted as an effort to plan,
coordinate, and manage existing resources in order to achieve goals
effectively and efficiently.
By applying management science, it is hoped that something that is done
can be completed on time and nothing is wasted. Goals are achieved
because they are well organized.

6 Important Elements in Management Activities.


In order for management performance in business activities to run
smoothly, there are several elements that need to be carefully considered.
Each element is complementary and must be positioned equally. In
general, there are 6 elements in management activities.

1. Human

In management activities, human resources make plans and goals to be


achieved. For this reason, without humans, management activities will
never exist.

2. Money
Money is an important element in management activities because it is the
main intermediary in achieving goals. Operational costs in a management
activity certainly require money to run properly.

3. Material

This management element is an important factor because the quality of the


business is influenced by the quality of the selected materials. So, if the
selected materials are poor, management goals will be difficult to achieve.

4. Machine

The engine is another element to pay attention to. With the machine or
technology, the work done by human resources will definitely be easier.
Goals can be achieved more effectively.

5. Method

This element affects performance in a management. If the method is based


on targets, facilities, time, money, and business activities, management
activities will definitely run more smoothly. This element also requires
human intervention in order to be created properly.

6. Market

This element is very important because a business can only grow if it is


known in the market. The market element is influenced by the material
element because the goods or services sold must have good quality.
Management function
The basic function of management science is as an element that must
exist in management activities as a reference for someone who serves as a
manager, or manager. This manager is tasked with ensuring that objectives
are achieved, by planning, coordinating and controlling.

In management science, there are 5 functions that influence each other.


These functions include planning, organizing, placing or staffing,
directing, and supervising. Without one of these functions, it is not
impossible that management activities will end up not according to plan or
purpose.

1. Planning is the first thing a manager should do. With planning,


managers evaluate all actions, both those that have been done and those
that have not. Without careful planning, the objectives of management
activities will not be achieved.

2. After that, run the organizing function. The goal is to simplify the
supervisory process carried out by managers.

3. Placement function, the manager is tasked with placing available


resources as needed. That way, the process of achieving goals can be
carried out more effectively and efficiently.

4. The directive function is an effort so that the plans that have been made
can run smoothly. So it is necessary to provide direction so that everything
that is done can go according to the direction or plan.

5. Lastly the supervisory function. The goal is that management activities


can take place according to plan. If it does not go well, an evaluation
process can be carried out. So that management objectives can be achieved
more effectively and efficiently.

Business management
Business management is the activity of planning, working on, and
supervising a business or business. The purpose of these activities is to
achieve business goals. Business management can also be interpreted as all
efforts made in accordance with the plan solely to achieve sales targets.
This means that without a management process, it is impossible to obtain
sales profits. Management in an effort to allocate all needs thoroughly for
various things. Starting from planning, controlling, action, and evaluation.
It is in these four activities that the path of business progress can be
determined to move quickly or slowly.
If you look at the definition above, of course business management is the
most important element that makes a business thrive or vice versa. So it is
natural that good business is determined by good management. On the
other hand, a bad business that has the potential to go out of business is
one that is run without quality management. Because it can be ascertained
that plans for blind business progress are also not monitored in detail and
strictly.
From this condition, of course, your business can be re-mapped. If you
don't have a well-planned and quality management, do it immediately or
better stop the business. After all, in the end it will not give satisfactory
results because there are only losses after very large losses.

Business Management Function


After knowing the meaning of business management, the following
will explain the function of management in your business. This will be the
reason why business management needs to be studied by business owners
or those of you who are just planning to build a business.
This is the function of business management in question. Please
understand if you need to pay attention so that when opening a business
you just have to open and study it.
1. Planning (Planning)
The first function is planning or planning. To build a business, of course,
requires some kind of planning, such as a marketing plan, products to be
sold, promos to be offered, bookkeeping or others. This planning should
be well recorded. Because this will be a benchmark for future business
movements.
The thing that is usually wrong in starting a business is that they don't plan
the bookkeeping process when starting their business. While a good
bookkeeping process will allow you to see factual financial data which
will help you to create an overall business plan based on financial data.
This means that the entrepreneur will run his business according to the
plan that has been made. Well the goal is to determine whether the goal is
actually achieved or otherwise.
Most of the reasons business people do not use bookkeeping when starting
a business is because they do not understand accounting science at all or
they think that the process of recording books and preparing financial
reports is very time consuming, but this is not entirely true.

2. Organizing (grouping)
Organizing or grouping can be related to labor. The point is that if there is
a plan then a working group must be created. Make sure they have the
same share of work in their respective fields. Such as marketing team,
administration team, warehouse team and so on.
This kind of regularity is to make the work process orderly and not
confused with others. In addition, the evaluation process is easier because
you only need to ask for a report from the team leader. Now this is a good
momentum to assess the extent to which the team is working. If it doesn't
match the specifications, the team can be moved to a more appropriate
position.
If the management function of this grouping is successfully carried out, it
can also support the achievement of business goals. Conversely, if the
team does not work well, the leadership can take the initiative to replace or
the business will collapse.

3. Staffing
Staffing is related to existing resources in the company such as product
raw materials, production machines, supporting facilities and so on. This
must also be regular in order to be able to make the business even more
advanced. Therefore, the proper arrangement of resources must be
adjusted to the needs of the business. This can be done only if there is
good management in the company. If it doesn't exist, resources will be
used for things that are not a priority which has an effect on the capital to
swell.
This sometimes makes the company's finances collapse while the results of
work are not at all effective and efficient. The risk is that if you don't get a
capital injection, the business will soon go out of business. Of course, this condition is not desirable.
Therefore, it is necessary to do business management as soon as possible. So that there is a good
arrangement of the function of the use of resources.

4. Directing
Fungsi manajemen bisnis yang ke empat adalah fungsi directing.
Maksudnya ialah tindakan pimpinan yang terus menyemangati timnya
agar bisa bekerja sesuai dengan rencana yang sudah disepakati di awal.
Karena terkadang di awal kerja gairah karyawan semangat tetapi jika
sudah memasuki tahap akhir malah menurun. Ini yang bisa menyebabkan
kerugian perusahaan. Dalam fungsi manajemen ini pimpinan harus turun
langsung melihat progres kerja timnya. Jika perlu berikan pemahaman
jika terjadi sistem kerja yang tidak sesuai dengan rencana.
Manajemen directing semacam ini juga perlu dilakukan. Karena ini terkait
langsung kepatuhan kerja dengan perencanaan. Karena hanya dengan kerja
sesuai planing, target tujuan bisa tercapai tetapi tidak sebaliknya. Atas
dasar itu, tetap berikan directing yang bagus. Tetapi hindari melakukan
teguran yang membuat tim merasa tersinggung.
5. Controlling
Controlling atau pengawasan adalah fungsi manajemen bisnis yang
terakhir. Controlling semata observasi apakah sistem kerja dilakukan
sesuai kerja atau tidak. Dengan adanya pengawasan inilah poin-poin
penting yang akan dijadikan evaluasi harus dicatat. Begitu juga dengan
kesulitan-kesulitan yang dialami.
Controlling ini tidak harus dilakukan oleh pimpinan tetapi paling tidak
oleh ketua kelompok. Karena mereka yang lebih tahu apa yang sedang
terjadi di kelompoknya. Pimpinan tinggal meminta laporan
pertanggungjawaban perketua kelompok saat evaluasi. Dari laporan itulah
pihak pimpinan bisa menentukan kebijakan untuk bisnis periode
selanjutnya.

The business management component is an element that must be run with
the management system. They all have different functions. The following
are the components of business management in question:
1. Financial Management
Financial management is the management that regulates the budget
settings in the company. It is hoped that with this management the money
that has been spent can be used effectively and efficiently.
2. Marketing Management
Marketing management is a component of business management in the
form of planning, action and supervision activities related to product
marketing. While the goal is to promote the product that is really liked by
customers.
3. Production Management
Production management is the regulation of the production process in the
company. This is related to the function of production machines,
production operators and compounding of raw materials used.
4. Distribution Management
Distribution management is a management activity to ensure proper
distribution of products. This means that the goods that arrive at the hands
of the product are not defective and can arrive quickly.
5. HR Management
Human resource management means management activities that manage
employees. Including discipline and structuring the field of work.
Business Management Planning
The planning that needs to be carried out to carry out business
management is not difficult. The following is a list of plans which, if
implemented, means that one element of business management has been
implemented:
1. Define company goals and business targets
2. Develop strategies to achieve goals
3. Determine the required resources
4. Set work standards to achieve goals

1. Business development
Business development is one of the most sought after business
management job prospects, both by job seekers and companies.
According to Forbes, business development is the process of creating long-
term value for a company through customers, markets, and business
relationships.
In other words, someone who works in the field of business development
is responsible for creating strategies so that customers, markets, and
business relationships can create opportunities for the company to grow.
Some of the business development responsibilities include:
• conduct market research
• seek new customer opportunities and maintain relationships between
customers or clients
• prepare and present the company's business development plan
• conduct regular business development research
• understand the company's products, competitors, and business position in
the market

2. Entrepreneur
Anyone can become an entrepreneur. However, if you are a business
management graduate, this one job prospect is perfect for you.
You certainly already have knowledge about management, business,
marketing, and other things related to entrepreneurship.
Therefore, you can immediately apply it in your work.
3. Marketing executive
Usually, marketing is one of the concentrations or majors in the faculty of
management and business.
However, even if you don't take this concentration, you will certainly learn
the basics of marketing during business class.
One of the business management job prospects that focus on marketing is
a marketing executive.
This profession can be called the parent of all company marketing
activities.
So, what makes it different from other professions in the field of
marketing?
Marketing executive focuses on maximizing the benefits of the marketing
strategy that he runs.

media marketing.
4. Risk manager
