WEEK 15

Task: Assignment – My favorite restaurant


INSTRUCTIONS

GET INTO GROUPS OF 2 OR 3


Step 1:
- In pairs or groups of three, choose different restaurants and dishes to describe:
RESTAURANT DISHES

 A donde Carlitos “Lomo saltado”


 Costa Mar “Ceviche”


- Use set phrases to start the conversation.


Example:

What is your favorite restaurant? What’s it like? How often do you eat there?
How about the food? What is your favorite food? What do you think of the service?

- Use expressions to give your opinion (I think, In my opinion, I believe [that]).

Example: I think “Lomo saltado” is tasty.


Step 2:
- Look at the grammar tense to use in your dialogue.

• Linking words: because, and, or, so, but


• Adjectives to describe a restaurant
Step 3:

- Write your dialogue with your group.

• Remember to use the correct spelling of the words and


punctuation.
DIALOGUE

Andree: Danna, where would you like to go to lunch for your birthday on Friday?
Danna: I am not sure. I don't know, there are many restaurants around here.
Andree: You know; we could look online at the local Internet sites.
Danna: Good. Let's take a look!
Andree: What kind of food would you like for your birthday?
Danna: I love traditional Peruvian food or Italian the best.
Andree: This one! … I think “Costa mar”, looks good!
Danna: Oh yes, I know about it. I sometimes go there with my family.
Andree: Really?
Danna: Sure! I mean, it’s my favorite restaurant.
Andree: So, can you tell me what’s the restaurant like?
Danna: “Costa mar” is big and beautiful, and the price
is reasonable. There are two swimming pools and
green areas for us.

Andree: It sounds interesting.


How about the food?
Danna: The food is fresh and delicious.
DIALOGUE

Andree: I think it’s nice.


What’s your favorite dish there?
Danna: I love “arroz con pato”
How about you Andree? What’s your favorite restaurant?
Andree: My favorite restaurant is “A Donde Carlitos”
Danna: Is it a new restaurant? What’s it like?
Andree: It’s very comfortable but expensive.

Danna: What’s the food like?
Andree: All kinds of food are really tasty.
Danna: What do you think of the service?
Andree: I think the waiters are friendly.

Danna: I think that would be a really good choice!
