RA 10121 – PH Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010
- Requires citizens be prepared to disaster

- Purpose:
Prevent loss of lives
Reduce loss of structures
Prepare people for disaster
- Establishment of CDRRMO and BDRRMC
- Section 23 – Funding of OCD (lead agency to carry out allocated budget of 1B)
RA 10344 – Risk Reduction and Preparedness Equipment Protection Act
- Act penalizing any violations to preparedness equipment, accessories, and facilities

- Acts considered unlawful:
Steal, taking possessing equip
Sell/buying equipment
Tamper/dismantale equip
Attempt to commit prohibited acts
Benefit from the fruits of prohibited acts if u are knowledgeable that it comes from unlawful
acts (accomplice)
- Penalty: imprisonment of 12<15 years; fine of 1M<3M; both
RA 10821 – Children’s Emergency Relief ad Protection Act
- Provision of emergency relief and protection of children before, during, after disaster
- Sec 4 – DSWD formulate Comprehensive emergency program for children
- 8 components of CEPC:
Evacuation Center
Transitional Shelter for orphans
Access for immediate basic necessities
Enforcement of stronger measures ensuring safety and security

RA 8749 – PH clean air act
- Act providing comprehensive air pollution control policy
- DENR should do annual air quality report
- Mandates following agencies:
DENR – acts as lead of the agency
DOTC (Transpo & Communication) – coor with DENR in case of industrial dischargers by
imposing collection on regular emission fees
DOST
DOE (Energy) - set specs for all types of fuel and fuel related products to improve fuel
composition for increased efficiency and reduced emissions
PAGASA – monitor meteorological factors affecting environmental conditions
RA 9211 – Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003
- Regulates packaging, use, sale, distribution, and ads of tobacco
- 17.3M adult Filipinos are smoking
- Sec. 5 – smoking ban in public places
- Sec. 6 – Designated smoking and non-smoking areas (legible label)
- Sec 10 – prohibits sale or distrib of cigars and other tobacco products within 100 meters from
any point of the perimeter of schools, playground, and facilities frequented by minors or near
RA 6969 - Toxic Substances and the Hazardous and Nuclear Wastes Control Act of 1990
- Act to control toxic substances and hazardous and nuclear wastes
- Registration is required for hazardous waste generators, etc.
RA 9003 – Ecological Solid Waste Management Act
- Act providing ecological solid waste management program, creating necessary institutional
mechanisms and incentives
RA 9147 - Wildlife Resources and conservation and protection act
- Provide conservation and protection of wildlife resources and their habitats
- DENR – preside terrestrial animals
- DA – aquatic habitats and resources
- Illegal Acts:
Killing and destroying wildlife species
Inflicting injury to cripple or impair repro system of wildlife species
Effecting acts in critical habitats
Introduction, reintroduction/restocking of wildlife resources
Trading of wildlife
Collecting, hunting, possessing wildlife
Gathering/destroying active nests, host plants and the like
Maltreating/inflicting other injuries not covered by preceding paragraph

RA 7586 - National Integrated protected areas system (NIPAS) act of 1992
- Provide establishment and management of national integrated protected areas system
- Sec 3. – specifies categories of protected areas (e.g., monuments, natural parks, etc)
