Capacitor

1. A parallel plate capacitor has plates divided into sections with different dielectric materials. The effective dielectric constant is calculated as the average of the individual dielectric constants, weighted by their relative thicknesses. 2. For a parallel plate capacitor with one triangular section filled with a dielectric material, the capacitance is calculated as the capacitance of the whole capacitor multiplied by the natural log of the dielectric constant of the material. 3. A parallel plate capacitor charged to 10V has a porcelain slab inserted. The work done on the slab is calculated using the capacitance of 12pF, the potential difference of 10V, and the dielectric constant of the slab.
