K To 12 Graduates: Pursuing Dreams and Fostering Resilience in The Face of Adversity
K To 12 Graduates: Pursuing Dreams and Fostering Resilience in The Face of Adversity
To the Ponso National High School Senior High School graduates, School Year 2021-
2022, I give you my sincerest congratulations and salute you for your resilience and
perseverance to combat not just the threat of the COVID-19 but also the heinous effect of
ignorance.
Being resilient does not mean that people don't experience stress, emotional upheaval,
and suffering. It is one’s quality to remain stronger after being knocked down by a situation in
life. According to Seligman and Csikszentmihalyi (2014), resilient individuals recover easily
from a tough moment and stand stronger than before rather than giving room for failure to run
over and drain them.
Graduating during these difficult times only prove that you are “tough breed” making
your parents proud. Despite the restrictions brought to us by this health crisis, you manifested
courage and done your best. The whole Ponso National High School community are proud of
you.
Don’t see failure or success as the only end goals when it comes to pursuing your dreams.
Instead, think of life as a big journey where what happens along the way is just as important as
reaching the end goal. Pursuing your dreams can take a lot of courage and dedication to do.
All the experiences you get along the way can make every minute you put into it worthwhile.
That’s something I’m sure that actor learned while pursuing his dreams. And it’s why you
should always pursue them – no matter what.
May your graduation be a guiding principle to never give up improving, learning and
succeeding because it is through dreams that we are motivated to pursue our ambitions.
An American Charismatic Christian author and speaker, Joyce Meyer once said “A
positive attitude will give you power over your circumstances, instead of your circumstances
having power over you.”
Congratulations!
