STRENGTHS
One of our strengths is the abundance of indigenous materials in our country. We also have many
talented handicraft designers/makers who do not require expensive payment. Capital for handicraft
business is also low.
WEAKNESSES
Our weaknesses include lack of promotion of our handicrafts, lack of technology in handicraft making.
Also, there is lack of interest of the younger generation in handicrafts because we are more interested
now in technology or gadgets.
OPPORTUNITIES
Advertising in social media websites like Tiktok, Facebook, and others help marketers be more informed about
their target audience, likes, dislikes, and interests so that they can create a better marketing strategy to attract
such customers.
THREATS
Middlemen can provide beneficial market linkages, but they often pose a threat to the poorer
population of handicraft artisans. They tend to exploit the artisans by only paying them a fraction of the
actual amount of wages. Low productivity because of not having huge storage spaces or any kind of
packing and/ or shipping facilities is also a threat.
