Question 8: Write an opinion essay
Directions: In this part of the test, you will write an essay in response to a question that asks you
to state, explain, and support your opinion on an issue. Typically, an effective essay will contain
a minimum of 300 words.

You will have 30 minutes to plan, write, and revise your essay.

Many people enjoy watching or playing sports. Why do you think sports are important to
people? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your answer.

Many people enjoy watching or playing sports. Personally, I can say that sports are an important
part of our life. I feel this way for several reasons.

To begin with, watching sports will help us relax after numerous of working hour. After
working, we will need a relaxing time our mind. For example, when you return to home after a
hard working day, you can lie on the sofa and enjoy your favorite NBA basketball team winning
the final match. Watching sports can also help us to reduce stress from working to hard.

In addition, sports will make us healthier. When you play sport, your heart and your body
condition will be improved. Example, my height has been increased for 5 inches after 3 years of
playing basketball. If you do not play any sports, you can easily get fat or sick.
Furthermore, sports will help us to connect to many people. We can go to a local coffee shop
and watching sports with our friend, or having some friendly match with stranger people. It will
help your society skill improved.
Nowadays, many people do not enjoy watching or playing sports. Sports is very important to our
life. Therefore, we should spend time for it in our free time.
