Kinjutsu

The document summarizes the key processes involving ideal gases and steam. It outlines 7 common gas processes defined by conditions of temperature (T), pressure (P), and volume (V): isothermal, isobaric, isometric/isochoric/isovolumic, isometric/isovolumic, polytropic, isentropic/adiabatic. For each process, it lists the change in enthalpy, internal energy, entropy, work done, and heat transferred. It also provides conversions for common units in mechanics, mass/weight, linear measurements, area, and angle.

NOTES for PROCESSES OF IDEAL GAS

1. Make use of the equations PV=mRT, P∆V=mR∆T, PV=8.314nT and PV=0.0281nT

2. Note the R, k, M, Cp and Cv relations. Values differ depending on the type of gas
3. Make use of Entropy-Heat relation: S = Q/T the term (∆T)/T leads to natural logarithm of temperature ratio
4. Work always have PV and can be substituted by mRT
5. Use absolute unit of pressure and temperature when multiplying or dividing.
