I. Rationale
The Araw ng Kabataan (Youth Day) will be celebrated to foster active participation
from the barangay’s youth among other relevant reasons including it being mandated by
the Department of Interior Local Goverment. It will also serve as an avenue to deepen the
youth’s knowledge of their rights and privileges, to empower the youth in forwarding their
advocacies and to enhance their motivation for youth development. The existing nature of
this event serves a multitude of purposes including team building, idea generation, and so-
cial interaction that overall increases one’s self-confidence, social skills and productivity.
This event is themed “Patunayan Natin Na Tayo ang Pag-Asa ng Bayan” as an attempt to
refocus the youth on the Filipino culture that instill certain values and beliefs that remain
crucial in molding the youth of today whilst also practicing innovation and advancement as
stakeholders of the 21st century.

II. Objectives
- to unite the youth and instill the power of leadership in our society
- to enhance their talents, social skills and the emotional, spiritual, and mental as-
pects of their life so as to be able to collaborate in generating ideas on how to strengthen
the relationship of our youth and our community
- to involve everyone in creating a new happiness or past time while also teaching
values from this event
- to help the youth be more expressive individuals that can share their thoughts and
ideas freely
- to uplift the artist in every individual of the youth through creative activities
- to empower women through pageantry with regards to their excellent talents and
beauty and also demonstrating that being a role model begins with ourselves
 - to emphasize that despite of our diversity and scarcity, we can be resilient and cel-
ebrate in unity and prosperity for the welfare of the youth and our fatherland
- to uplift camaraderie and community involvement
- to nurture an ethical environment that possesses the grained lesson from the event
- to gain a comprehensive understanding about societal issues and youth responsi-
bility

III. Content
Nowadays, lots of changes happen in each of our lives, especially with the youth.
The youth today are now seek to be more productive, yet are also aggressive in various
things that give them enjoyment. That iss why most of the youth are engaging into vices
such as addictive drugs, influence of liquor, crimes, and even unwanted pregnancy.

Therefore, the PPSK of San Narciso, Quezon is aware of these types of problems
and has thus decided to conduct Araw ng Kabataan 2019 with the theme “Patunayan Natin
Na Tayo ang Pag-Asa ng Bayan”, not just in accordance to the DILG Memorandum requir-
ing the Sangguniang Kabataan to hold Youth Summits but also for the purpose of engaging
the youth through various activities on Nov. 30, 2019.

The said event will be started with a mass to ask God for guidance for the whole
event, followed by a parade around the town proper with the KK participants and the can-
didates for BB. KK 2019. After the parade, team building activities and Palarong Lahi will
follow to spread the good effects of teamwork that enables them to trust each other and for
the youth of today to realize the importance of experiencing the old culture of Filipino
youth. Afterwards, there will be talks that will discuss about the effects of vices on the
youth and the importance of education as “pag-asa ng bayan” that will surely give more
knowledge and new ideas to the youth. Lastly, there will be a pageant to showcase the
beauty and wit of each candidate from every barangay.

Being involved in this kind of event can have a lot of impact not just in the personal
aspects of the participants’ lives but them as whole with the society, and help us to make
new friends and teach us about being good team players, and for the youth to have a more
useful and helpful activities to do and to avoid vices.

IV. Participants
This event aims to garner 900 participants with an average of 35 participants per
barangay. The participants will compose of 1 candidate for Bb. Katipunan ng Kabataan, 1
Spoken Word Poetry Artist, 5 Cheer/Yell Competition participants and the rest as players
of Palarong Panlahi games and other team building activities. All 30-35 participants are ex-
pected to participate in the talks and to serve as the audience in the pageant.
