Greetings!

Dear parents,

Our first week in kindergarten was wonderful! The boys and girls have done a
great job of adjusting to our daily routine. We continue to review
classroom/cafeteria rules, and procedures to ensure our kindergarteners safety
and comfort.

Here’s the weekly update of topics covered this week (3rd-10th June 2022) for
your reference:

Circle time: Meet and greet

Literacy:

• Recap of uppercase and lowercase letters and sounds (Aa- Zz)


• Recap of vowels. Introduction to special vowel ‘y’.
• Recap of sight words: and, you, the.

Numeracy:

• Recap of 2D shapes: circle, triangle, square, rectangle - Properties and


vocabulary (side, corner, names of shapes)
• Number concepts: Missing numbers, More/less
• Oral counting 1-50

EVS:

All about me: Enquiry-based learning - My name, my school, my classroom,


teachers, and friends.

Kannada:

• Words taught:
✓ Greeting: Shubhodaya, Shubharatri,
✓ My family: Amma, Appa, Ajja, Ajji

Please revise these topics at home. Folders with worksheets will be sent home
on Fridays (from 17th June onwards) which must be returned empty on the
following Mondays.

Kindly Note: We shall have Show & Tell for our class every Thursday and
the topics(for the following week) will be shared every Friday in the Weekly
Update. Prepare the child to speak for one minute. The child may share a
picture, a drawing or any object related to show and tell.
Show and Tell topic for the coming week (My Summer Holidays/16th June,
2022/Thursday)

Kindly send all the books and notebooks by Monday (Ignore if sent) and fill
in the first page of the diary (Ignore if done).
