LESSON PLAN IN TLE 9 (COOKERY) 4th Quarter

I. Objectives:

At the end of the session, the learners are expected to:

1. Identify the different classification/types of desserts.

2. Give the characteristics of desserts.

3. Appreciate the essence of dessert in a meal.

II. Subject Matter:

A.Topic : Classification of desserts and their characteristics

B.Reference : K to 12 Cookery learning module

Self-Learning Module - TLE Cookery 9 Quarter 4- Module 2 (Classification of Dessert)

C. Instructional materials: Laptop, PowerPoint Presentation, Television, Pictures

III. Learning Procedures:

A. Preliminary Activities
 Greetings
 Opening Prayer
 Checking of Attendance
 Classroom Rules
 Review of the past lesson through a short activity (picture identification)

B. Activity

A set of pictures will be displayed on the screen. The students need to solve and guess the
word that it depicts. They will be given only 5-10 seconds to answer.

C. Analysis

The teacher will ask the following questions:


1. What is a dessert?
2. What is the importance of dessert in a meal?
3.
4. What are the different types of dessert?

D. Abstraction

The teacher will further discuss the different types of appetizers.

Dessert- Served as the last course of a meal, a dessert is often sweet, like cake or pie
E. Application

The teacher will show some pictures of appetizers and students will identify which classification
of appetizers they belong to.

IV. Assessment:

Instructions: Write down some popular Filipino appetizers. Then, identify which classifications they
belong to.

V. Assignment

Make your own version of Filipino appetizer. Make documentation by taking videos or pictures starting
from the preparation of materials/ingredients (mise-en-place), actual cooking preparation, to plating
presentation. Send the documentation to your teacher.

Copy the following rubrics and ask your parents/guardians or anyone in your house to rate and
comment on your work.
