MODULE IN MUSIC - 6
THIRD QUARTER/ WEEK ONE/ DAY ONE

A. LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Identifies simple musical forms of songs of the community.

Sectional forms:
1. binary (AB) -has 2 contrasting sections (AB)
2. ternary (ABA)-has 3 sections, the third section is similar to the first.
(ABC) – has 3 sections
3. rondo (ABACA) -has contrasting sections in between repetitions of the A
section.
B. WHAT’S NEW
YOUR LESSON FOR TODAY
FORM
● It is the overall structure of a musical composition.
● It depends on the number of sections that make up a song.
Phrases are combined to create sections which have a similar feel. There are songs which are
made up of one section only. Most songs, however, have two or more sections. Every section
may differ in tone, beat, tempo, or key.
The primary elements of form are repetition, contrast, and variation.
Simple Forms in Music:
1. Binary Form – A binary form is made up of two sections. These 2 sections must be
different from each other.
AB – starts with section A and ends in section B.

2. Ternary Form – is made up of three sections.

There are two types of ternary form
ABC – has three sections and ends with section C.
ABA – the A section appears both at the beginning and at the end. The B section is
contrasting in character/significantly different from the A section.

3. Rondo (ABACA) – has 3 contrasting sections in between repetition of the A section.

It can be represented by these symbols:

A B A C A

Example of song in Binary Form.

Bayan Ko
A

B
Ibon mang may layang lumipad, kulungin mo at umiiyak
Bayan pa kayang skdal dilag, ang di magnasang makaalpas
Plipinas kong minumutya, pugad ng luha ko’t dalita
Aking adhika makita kang sakdal laya.

Here is a song in ternary form -our National Anthem.

Lupang Hininirang
A
Bayang magiliw perlas ng Silanganan
Alab ng puso sa dibdib mo’y buhay
Lupang hinirang duyan ka ng magiting
Sa manlulupig di ka pasisiil.

B

C
Lupa ng araw ng luwalhati’t pagsinta
Buhay ay langit sa piling mo
Aming ligaya na pag may mang-aapi
Ang mamatay nang dahil sa ‘yo.

MODULE IN ART 6
THIRD QUARTER/ WEEK 1 /DAY 2

A. LEARNING OBJECTIVE
Produces own prints from original design to silkscreen printing to convey a
message or statement.

B. WHAT’S NEW
YOUR LESSON FOR THE DAY:
What is Screen printing?
Screen printing is used to design shirts and convey a message, memory, confesses the
love for something, ran in a charity event, or show your favorite band—really anything you dream
about can be screen-printed onto t-shirt. This process is often referred to as Silk Screen
printing. As a method in printmaking, it uses a stencil to apply ink onto another material. It can
be on fabric or t-shirts. It can also be on paper, wood, vinyl, or any other material that absorbs
ink. It is very simple process, but it requires skill, experiences and use of the right equipment to
get the process right.
Before silk screen printing, creating one’s original design is very important. In creating a
design, one important aspect to look after is the message that you want to promote. It may in
the form of a logo, or any graphic or text with value.

sample design from the reference

The given sample design is used in the illustration below.

In a previous module, you have already given the steps in silk screen printing. Here is the
expounded explanation of each of them.

How to Silkscreen
1. Coat screen with photo sensitive emulsion -This should be done in an area not well lit
and while emulsion is drying keep the screen out of light.
MODULE CODE: PASAY-A6-Q3-01

Teacher: _____________________________________________Section : _____________________________

2. Burn screen - Take transparency and place on outside of screen, right side down, with
clear tape. Locations on screen vary due to placement on textile. Place the screen in
the exposure unit or in direct light to expose emulsion.

3. Rinse out image - After emulsion has been exposed, remove transparency, and take to
wash out sink. Here gently rinse out the entire screen- the emulsion where the image
was will completely wash away as well as any excess emulsion that could run into the
image while drying. After rinse, set the screen aside to dry.

4. Tape up screen - Clear packing tape works best to go around the inside of the screen to
prevent ink from running into edges of screen which would go through and to preserve
screens.

5. Set up screen - Take screen to press, set in, line up (T-squares work nicely) center and
screw in.

6. Print - Take desired ink and spread across the screen below the image. Take squeegee
(squeegee should span just slightly larger than width of image) and pull ink through
screen.

MODULE IN MAPEH - HEALTH EDUCATION 6

QUARTER 3/ WEEK 1

Learning Objective: Explains how poor environmental sanitation can negatively impact the health of an
individual.

LESSON 1: IMPACT OF POOR ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION

Your Lesson For Today

What is meant by ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION?

Environmental sanitation also known as public cleanliness, refers to a set of actions geared towards
improving the quality of the environment and reducing the amount of diseases. These includes using clean
and safe toilets, keeping water sources clean, and disposing of garbage safely. The management of water,
solid wastes, and industrial wastes, as well as the topic of pollution and noise control, all fall under the scope
of environmental sanitation.

Clean and safe Keeping water Disposing Clean Poor sanitation

toilet sources clean garbage environment environment
properly

You live in an environment that is full of living organisms, both visible and invisible to the naked eye.
Bacteria are microscopic organisms that are an essential part of the environment. Bacteria are everywhere in
nature and they have an important role in maintain life on the whole planet. Your well-being needs a healthy
environment. Poor sanitation has negative impacts on the environment and eventually on the health of the
people living in it. People living in crowded city slums and villages with poor sanitation means wastes lie on the
streets, clogs the drains, and creates an immediate local hazard. This condition also creates ideal conditions
for the growth of disease-causing organisms.

Some diseases and disorders due to poor sanitation are:

Respiratory Diseases
Poor environmental sanitation causes outdoor and indoor pollution. Acute
respiratory infections, such as pneumonia and chronic respiratory diseases, are
linked to poor sanitation. Respiratory infections are one of the biggest causes of
deaths in the world every year.

Skin Diseases
Poor environmental sanitation can also cause some skin diseases. Scabies is not
considered a serious condition but it is very common in poor, crowded communities
which may seriously impair the quality of life of affected children. It is a parasite
infestation of the skin caused by microscopic mites that burrow in the skin.

Gastrointestinal Diseases and Disorder
Diarrhea and cholera are two common gastrointestinal diseases caused by poor
sanitation and hygiene. Diarrheal diseases are the most common problem caused by
poor sanitation and contaminated water. Cholera is a bacterial infection throughout the
intestinal tract. It causes diarrhea and if not treated, it can cause severe dehydration and
death. The kind of germs- parasites, bacteria, viruses- depend on the geographic area
where a person lives and its level of sanitation and hygiene standard. Ascariasis
(roundworm infection), trichuriasis (whipworm infection), and hookworm disease are
intestinal worm infections caused by poor sanitation.

Neurological Impairness
Neurological impairments are a group of disorders that affect the central and
peripheral nervous system- the brain, spinal cord, and the nerves. Some of these
disorders are epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, cerebrovascular
diseases including stroke, migraine and other headache disorders, and multiple
sclerosis. A neurological impairment or disability may affect a person’s speech,
motor skills, vision, memory, muscle actions, and learning abilities. One of the
causes of neurological disorders in children, aside from traumas, infections,
heredity, and tumors, is exposure to toxic chemicals, particularly lead and mercury
poisoning. Lead a mercury can enter your body through ingestion or swallowing,
inhalation, or absorption through the skin or mucus membranes.

What I have Learned

Disease- causing organisms are part of human existence. They co-exist with people every day in the
environment. Infections or diseases happen when your body’s line of defense, like your immune system, is
overpowered by the attack of germs. You can avoid getting infected by any disease-causing organism by being
consistent with your daily health habits and personal hygiene practices. You should also, in your own way,
contribute to public cleanliness. Participate and maintain healthy practices at home. Improving and
maintaining good sanitation in your own home is a significant contribution to the health of your community.

Keep in Mind

Environmental sanitation, also known as public cleanliness, refers to a set of actions geared towards improving
the quality of the environment and reducing the amount of disease.
Some diseases and disorders caused by poor sanitation are respiratory diseases, skin diseases,
gastrointestinal diseases and neurological impairments.

B. WHAT’S NEW
YOUR LESSON FOR TODAY
Phrase is a short musical idea. Like a sentence in English.
If we take a few of this phrase and put them together we get a section.
Section – a few phrases put together like a paragraph in English.
These sections are illustrated using capital letters.
Section A – is often describe as paragraph
- the first section which expresses the principal idea
Section B – another paragraph of the song
-represents the second section which is different from the first
Section C - symbolizes the third section which is different from the first

These are the different Musical Forms

Binary Form – a piece of music with two sections (A, B)
