Rules and Expectations
1. BE PREPARED
Bring to class a pencil, a charged Chromebook, and any required class materials.
Bring headphones/ear buds to class with you each day or arrange to leave a pair here.
All cell phones must be put away when the bell rings. Cell phones should not be out during
class.
Be in your assigned seat when the class time begins.
2. BE COOPERATIVE AND ATTENTIVE
Listen when someone else is speaking. Show respect for those around you.
Raise your hand to make a comment or ask a question.
Follow rules of netiquette.
3. BE ACTIVELY INVOLVED
Do your part when working in groups or with partners. Cheating will be dealt with according to
school policy.
Ask plenty of questions! This is how we learn. Never make fun of fellow students for asking
questions.
Always try your best!
4. BE CONSIDERATE AND SAFE
Be respectful of others' property.
Be respectful of school property.
Grades may be based on homework, in-class activities, quizzes, tests, and/or projects.
Your marking period percentage grade is calculated by adding all of your points together and
dividing by the total number of points.
I do not give grades; you earn them. Check online to see your current grade.
Classwork
Participation in class is required! You will not receive credit for in-class activities if I cannot see
clear evidence of your participation and effort.
If you miss a graded in-class activity or assignment, you will be required to make it up to earn
your points. If it is impossible for that activity to be completed at a later time,
you will be given an alternate assignment to complete.
Neatness counts; if I cannot read an assignment, I will not be able to grade it.
There will be a final exam for the course at the end of the year.
The grading scale is as follows: A=100%-93%, B=92%-85%, C=84%-77%, D=76%-70%, F=below
69%.
Late Work and Absences
It is expected that assigned work will be completed on time.
Any assignment not turned in when it is collected during the class or by the posted due date and
time will be considered late.
Points may be deducted from work that is late. If special circumstances exist, I may allow
work to be made up late, but this must be discussed with by me as soon as the issue arises,
not at the end of the marking period.
When you are absent, you are responsible for finding out what assignments were given while
you were gone. Check Google Classroom! Let me know what you’re missing and I’ll provide it for
you.
Failure to make up work will result in a score of zero being entered as the grade.
Difficulties with the Course
If you find yourself struggling with the course material, let me know. We can schedule a time to
work together to get you caught up. I’m always here to help. Call me from 7-7:30 am or 1:50-
2:20 pm, or send an email anytime.
I have read and understand the above course expectations. I understand that if I have questions
or concerns about anything written above, I should contact Mr. Martinazzi to discuss it (contact
information is on the front page).
