Do you believe you have achieved the Course Outcomes?

Yes, I believe that I have attained the course outcomes. It is because the course provides me a
significant knowledge about different communication mediums and their suitability as per the
organizational settings. The knowledge about communication mediums enables me to
consider different organizational settings and choose communication mediums and decision-
making styles accordingly. According to the viewpoint of McLean (2005), an organization is a
combination of different situations where leadership teams need to take relevant actions.
Similarly, the practical and theoretical knowledge gained through the course will help me to
analyze different situations of an organization critically to propound effective and relevant
initiatives. Before attending the course, I did not have sufficient information and knowledge
about the theoretical perspectives of organizational communication. As a result, the course
fulfills my aim to learn communication theories and their application in a practical scenario.

Apart from this, the communication dynamics represented in the course allows me to conduct
a communication audit without internal or external barriers. Therefore, it can be said that I
utilize course outcomes effectively to handle my personal and professional goals. I applied the
knowledge gained through the course successfully to resolve communication challenges and
avoid cultural differences in the workplace. Apart from this, I utilize material covered in the
course to solve workplace communication issues. Hence, it can be said that the course
material and outcomes improve my theoretical and practical knowledge to develop a career
effectively.

Is there one assignment or reading that has contributed most to your learning?

Yes, there is one reading that has contributed most to my learning. The reading was named
"Group communication, teamwork, and leadership." This reading is most important for me
because it covered very useful and relevant information that will prove beneficial in managing
working life. In this reading, I got background information about Group. According to the
viewpoint of McLean (2005), prior application of group development theories and other
aspects, it is essential for a reader to get background information about a particular topic. At
first, this reading strengthens my background and basic knowledge about groups and teams.
Apart from this, the reading contains information group types in the workplace. The content

covered in the explanation of group types was very beneficial. It is because the author
embedded the content with practical examples to define group types. The knowledge of group
types will help me to manage team members during working life effectively ( Winning Team,
team definition, team vs group, Team Building, Teamwork, 2020). Also, I can divide the group
as per the task and different criteria to improve their performance. Apart from this, the
theories and milestones covered in the reading were very relevant. It is because the workplace
examples were given to support the theoretical information and aspects. The group life cycles
and member roles included in the reading serves as the central point to use the reading again.
Hence, it can be said that Group communication and teamwork reading covered in chapter 19
serves as an important source for me to upgrade my current knowledge and learning skills.

Is there one question or area of interest you would like to have seen explored more?

The course contains different readings and relevant material that proves beneficial for
personal and professional development. Among the readings covered in the course, I would
like to explore more about intercultural communication. It is because intercultural
communication is an important study area within business communication. I am interested in
intercultural communication because it will prove very beneficial for me to grow ahead. Being
a leader within an organization, I need to communicate with people from different cultures.
As a result, the strong knowledge about intercultural communication and its theories will help
me to perform my job obligations effectively (McLean, 2005). Therefore, this course provides
me basic and theoretical information about intercultural communication. Apart from the
theoretical information, I also want to gain practical knowledge which can collect through the
reading of different cases and scenario. The knowledge of intercultural communication is
essential for me. It is because I will get an opportunity to strengthen my relationship with
colleagues and delivering associated tasks as per the determined schedule. Hence, it can be
said that I would like to explore the area of intercultural communication.
