MODULE 4

Analysis of the Proclamation of the Philippine Independence. Write a short analysis


on the following:
(1) Importance of the document.

The document of the proclamation of the Philippine independence gives an idea and
explains in the new generation of what had happen in the past and help us to
remember the national heroes that give their life for our beloved country and give
information in chronological order and alsothe importance of documents is it is the
best evidence that we had in the past. it play a big role in our history because it is
the document who are truly witnessed and all of this happening is real and the
remembrance of our ancestors heroes. It gives us an idea of everything that happen
before and it is important to us as part of the Philippines.

(2) Background of the text author (Aguinaldo).

Emilio aguinaldo the text author is a Chinese and Tagalog parantage. He is a Filipino
revolutionary politician and a military leader who officially recognized as the first and
youngest president of the Philippines and the first president of the constitutional
republic in the asia. After the Philippine erupted revolt against the Spaniards in 1896,
Aguinaldo won several victories in the province of Cavite province. After the U.S.
declared war on spain. Aguinaldo saw a possibility that the Philippine might achieve
it's independence and on January 1 1899 following the meeting of the constitutional
convention, Aguinaldo was proclaimed president of the Philippines republic.

(3) Context of the document

The context of the document is the end of the colonization of the Spanish and
started the freedom of the Filipino people. Proclamation of the Philippines
Indepence has been proclaimed on June 12, 1898 in the province of Cavite. And the
end of colonization of spaniards. This proclamation justify the philipine revolution
against the Spain and invoked established republic would be led under the
dictatorship of Emilio Aguinaldo. The document also narrated the infamous
execution of the martyr native priest whose innocent blood was shed thought the
entriguese of the co called religious order and also represent the distinctive emblem
of the famous Katipunan Society, which by means of its compact of blood urged on
the masses of the people to insurrection, the three stars represent the three
principal Islands of this Archipelago,Luzon, Mindanao and Panay, in which this
insurrectionary movement broke out; the sun represents the gigantic strides that
have been made by the sons of this land on the road of progress and civilization, its
eight ray symbolizing the eight provinces.

(4) Contribution of the document in understanding Philippine History.


This document give a clear information in our history of what happen in the past and
it also commenced a characterization of the condition of the Philippines during the
Spanish colonial period. This document also condemned the unequal protection of
the law between the Filipino people and the eminent personages. It gives a brief
historical overview of the Spanish occupation since the Magellan's arrival in Visayas
until the Philippines revolution with specific definition.And give an additional detail
in the proclamation that is worth looking at is its explanation on the Philippine flag
that was first waved on the same day. The flag was made in Hong Kong by Marcela
Agoncillo, Lorenza Agoncillo, and Delfina Herboza. It was accompanied by the
Marcha Filipina Magdalo, as the national anthem, now known as Lupang Hinirang,
which was composed by Julián Felipe and played by the San Francisco de Malabon
