What planning is necessary for Direct Instruction?

         Steps:

1. Clarify your purpose in teaching the particular lesson on topic.

2. Establish the objectives of the lesson, in line with the overall aims of the subject.

3. Determine the constraints (time, resources, etc..) on meeting those objectives.

4. Select the content you want your students to understand, in order that they might achieve

the lesson objectives.

5. Organize the content into a suitable sequence.

6. Select the most appropriate methods for presenting the content. 

7. Decide how you will assess the students to determine whether they have achieved the

lesson objectives.

8. Plan how you will evaluate the success of the instructional process, so that you can

decide whether to supplement or modify your approach in the future.
