PERFORMANCE TASK 1
Narrative Writing
Each of us has a unique story to share: our joys, sorrows, failures, triumphs, dreams,
fears, disappointments, pains, hesitations rejections, and doubts. We, humans, are
social beings so it is but normal for us to share our life’s stories with significant others of
lives.
As for your performance 1, you are opted to narrate the happiest moment of your life
that you remember. Use your creativity and imagination on how you are going to bring
your characters to life in the minds of your readers. You can make use of the different
elements of narrative writing. Below is the scoring rubrics:
Note: You may/may not encode your narrative but at least put it in a clean sheet of
short bond paper. Your narrative is minimum of 500 words.

Formulating Counterclaims
There is this stereotype that often attached to us as Ilocanos which is “Basta Iloco
Kuripot”. How will you tell them that we are not and we have valid reason if we are
happened to be one? In not more than 500 words explain your claims. Use the rubric
below as your guide.

Critiquing Article
What you have to do:
1. Look for an article that features a tourist’s spot in La Union specifically your
locality.
2. You may also search on the internet if printed articles are not available.
3. Secure a copy of the article.
4. Cut the article and paste it on a short bond paper or print the article from the
internet. DO NOT FORGET THE SOURCE OF THE ARTICLE.
Imagine that you are an editor for your school paper. Your teacher has asked you to
choose any article or blog about a tourist’s spot in La Union specifically your locality,
that represents reasons which aim to make the readers interested in visiting. You are
tasked to review your chosen article. Remember, a good review will identify the claim of
the text, describe its context, and evaluate the evidence provided. Follow the format

reviewing manuscripts submitted for publication. (Runnels (1994) claims)
Book reviewers do more than tell us simply what books are about or summarize their
contents. They consist of critical peer evaluations that profoundly affect the way in
which our colleagues regard the book, and often influence widely the decisions made
