New Year Get together 2022 was celebrated in our Association office at
Chepauk, on 29.12.2021 by about 6.30 P.M.
Since Er.R.Sornakumar, President, AOE is preoccupied with Hon’ble
Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Programme at Thanjavur, the meeting was
presided by Er.K.Prabakar, Vice President, AOE.
The function started with Tamil Thai Vazhthu.
Er.K.Murugan, General Secretary, AOE welcomed all the Senior
Engineers, Chief Engineers and Member Engineers to this meeting. He also
briefly narrated last one year activity of our Association and wished everyone a
happy new year 2022.
Er.K.Prabakar, Vice President, AOE in his address requested all the
members for active participation in the Association activities and wished new
year greeting to all the Engineers present in the function.
On this occasion Engineers diary for the year 2022 was released by
Er.A.Dhanapal, Chief Engineer, WRD, DR&CS and received by Er.A.Veerappan,
State Secretary, Tamil Nadu PWD Senior Engineers Association.
The Engineers Calendar 2022 was released by Er.K.Rajendran, Chief
Engineer, WRD, O&M and received by Er.K.Jeiyenthi, Assistant Engineer,
PWD.The following Engineers greeted the members on the New Year’s Eve.

Promotions and Postings of Executive Engineers (Civil) as Superintending

We are very much thankful to the Engineer-in-Chief (Buildings) & Chief
Engineer (Buildings), Chennai Region, Chennai for causing Promotion &
Postings of Executive Engineers and Superintending Engineers in the approved
panel for this year 2021-22.
In the Government Order 1st cited the Government have approved 63
Nos of Assistant Executive Engineers for Promotion as Executive Engineer in
Water Resources Department and Public Works Department. Out of this only 3
Engineers in Public Works Department are promoted as Executive Engineer
even though there is enough vacancy to promote all Assistant Executive
Engineers as Executive Engineer in Public Works Department.
In G.O.(Ms) No.158, Public Works (D2) Department, Dated 01.11.2021
the Government Ordered that if Junior in Public Works Department or Water
Resources Department get early promotion, there Senior in Public Works
Department or Water Resources Department will get Special Executive
Engineers or Special Superintending Engineer as the case may be so as to
maintain the seniority of Engineers commonly recruited for both Public Works
Department or Water Resources Department.
We therefore request our Engineer-in-Chief (Buildings) and Chief
Engineer (Buildings), Chennai Region, Chennai to send promotion postings in
Public Works Department to the remaining Assistant Executive Engineers in
the Government Order 2nd cited.

for dividing Public Works Department, Buildings Organization into 3 regions
and on the works allotted to the Regional Chief Engineers.
5. In the Government Order fifth read above, orders have been issued
for formation of a separate General Unit in the office of the Engineer-in-Chief
(Buildings) and Chief Engineer (Buildings), Chennai Region, Public Works
Department, Chepauk, Chennai to deal with all establishment matters of Public
Works Department.
6. In the Government Order sixth read above, orders have been issued
stipulating guidelines for the vertical separation of the Department into Public
Works Department and Water Resources Department.
