Uncle Marcos is courageous and adventurous. He loves exploring the world and attending life-
threatening journeys. We can see that when he creates his flying machine and had no hesitation flying it
over the mountains. The story also describes his many adventures in paragraph 2. He's a man of no fear.
Uncle Marcos is a carefree man. Especially when we see him serenade Cousin Antonietta to seduce her
while she was having tea with her friends which ends up as a huge embarrassment. He is a romantic
trying to win Cousin Antonietta hand. He also craves attention. We can infer that when he announced
that he was planning to take the bird and cross the mountains and the news spread and became the
most talked about event.

The theme of the story is to live on the wild side and try new things. Take risks even if it ends up in
disappointment and embarrassment.
