REORGANIZATION OF THE BARANGAY COUNCIL FOR THE PROTECTION OF


CHILDREN (BCPC)

WHEREAS, Section 15 of Republic Act 9344, all so known as The Juvenile Justice and
Welfare Act of 2006 provides for the establishments and strengthening of Local Council for
the Protection of Children (LCPC) to serve as the primary agency to coordinate with and assist
the Local Government Unit (LGU) concerned for the adoption of a comprehensive plan on
delinquency prevention and to oversee its proper implementation.

WHEREAS, it is imperative to support the legal mandate and to ensure the full implementation
of the rights of every child to live in a society that offers or guarantees his/her safety, health,
good moral, environment and facilities for his wholesome development.

NOW THEREFORE, I, NORWEL C. BASCOS, Punong Barangay, Barangay Villasis,


Santiago City, by the virtue of the Power vested in me by law, do hereby order:

Section 1. The Council for the protection of children is Hereby reorganized its composition and
membership as follows:

Section 2. The Committee shall have the following functions and duties:
 Foster the education of every child in the barangay;
 Encourage proper performance of duties of parents;
 Protect and assist abandoned and maltreated children;
 Take steps to prevent juvenile delinquency and assists parents of children with
behavioral problems;
 Adopt measures for the health of children;
 Promote opening and maintenance of playgrounds and day care centers and other
services necessary for child and youth welfare;
 Coordinate the activities of organizations devoted to the welfare of children and
rescue their cooperation;
 Promote the wholesome entertainment in the community especially in the movie
houses;

 Assists parents whenever necessary in securing expert guidance counseling from
the proper governmental or private welfare agency; and
 Protect working children from abuse and explanation.

Section 3. Affectivity. This order takes effect immediately.

Section.4. Let this copy of Executive Order be posted at the barangay hall for the information
and guidance of all concerned.

Done this 4th day of January 2022 at the Barangay Villasis, Santiago City.
