A Review Based Study On Transformational Leadership and Its Future Prospects
Purpose: The objective of this review was to systematically retrieve and review the key
literatures pertinent to the concepts and aspects of Transformational Leadership [1].
Methodology: As the literature appraisal was the crucial module of this research, identifying
relevant studies had to be a systematic as well as significant process. To retrieve as many
pertinent published articles as possible, this study referred the different database and search
engines and various pre-synthesized keywords including Transformational leadership style,
Transformational leadership behaviour, leadership, and Transformational leadership in
industry. “Transformational leadership” and “transformational leadership in industry” were
used as the main keywords and phrases which retrieved enormous amounts of original peer-
reviewed studies [2-6].
Findings: The literature search identified many published articles indicative of the
significance of the Transformational leadership. The subject of operative leadership in
organisations had been indicated by recent many studies. Leadership skills were considered
in the selection, promotion and performance appraisals of employees. In credit of its
standing, organisations stereotypically assisted and encouraged the development of
employees' leadership skills as evident [7-11].
Implications for theory and practice: The review provided a comprehensive assessment of
different transformational leadership scales and suggested MLQ as a short scale that was
found to be easy to administer and score.
Originality and value: The evidence indicated that it had acceptable reliability and construct
validity.
