Through the four different perspectives, namely, Philosophical, Sociological,
Anthropological, and Psychological perspectives, I assessed myself that allowed me to know and understand my true self better. And through that different perspective, they can serve as a guide on how I can manage myself for improvement and development. A better understanding of myself can help me improve my capability to acknowledge the thoughts and feelings of the people around me. In the philosophical perspective, it presents various representations and conceptualizations of the self from numerous perspectives. I discovered that there are several factors and circumstances that mold one’s self. It also taught me to examine my identity as I reflect across many aspects of my life experiences utilizing these varying viewpoints. On the other hand, the Sociological perspective made me recognize how society has an essential role in influencing the development of one’s self. It enables me to perceive society as a dynamic social product formed by humans and subject to change. Our choices and actions impact the nature of society, just as societal norms and influences affect us. I was able to find out that culture influences the development of the self through the Anthropological perspective. Our culture has a significant impact on our identity. I was able to connect myself and my culture. I recognized that I act a certain way because of the culture I’m exposed to. Lastly, in becoming fully aware of myself, I also need to know the Psychological perspective, which studies our human behavior. I can better understand myself, my motives, and my behavior patterns by learning about psychological variables such as personal traits. Overall, having to know all these different perspectives helped me discover who I am as a human being and learn to accept myself for who I am. By knowing who I am, I know where I stand in life, giving me self-awareness.
