Narrative on Bridging Learning Gaps

I. Introduction:
Today’s educational situation is very difficult. Not all learners has someone to guide
because parents are also busy earning for a living. But, we need to adjust in this new
normal. “Education must continue” as what the DepEd Secretary said. We, teachers
must go on and cater the needs of our learners. What shall we do to help our learners
especially those who lagged behind. This should be taken into action.
Therefore, we as front liners of education continue to do everything that will benefit
our learner. Here are some strategies that we did and still doing;
II. Activities (Strategies)
1. Diagnose learners who lagged. Asked if parents are willing to guide their kid at home if
learning materials will be given or sent to them.
2. Video call /chat the learners or even parents or guardians and gave examples on how they
will teach at home.
3. Did the culminating activity- teachers prepared learning materials in reading,(English and
Filipino) and Math and lent the parents so that they have those materials to be used in
teaching learners at home.
4. Continues parent tutorial by grade. Doing this, health protocol is strictly observed.
5. By group on line tutorial in Math focusing in multiplication process.
6. Sending Downloaded videos
7. Monitoring them every now and then in Messenger, reminding learners and parents to do
the activities sent such as worksheets, and activity sheet.
