Course Description

This course introduces the concepts of politics and political science to students.
Students are also invited to understand the history and scope of the study of
political science as well as the approaches in it. Students are also invited to
learn about ideology, political systems, and culture. Concept and theory about
State were introduced as well as constitution and power. In the second half of
the semester, students will be invited to understand Political Parties, Elections,
Parliament, interest groups, and pressure groups. The concept of democracy
and civil society are introduced, as well as political forces. At the last meeting,
students were invited to understand the politics of world politics and politics
between nations on the topic of global politics.

Learning Objectives

Students will be able to explain concepts, history, and approaches in


political science
Students will be able to explain ideology, political system, and culture
Students will be able to explain the concepts of the State, Constitution, and
Power in political science
Students will be able to explain Democracy, Human Rights, and Political
Representative

- Component to be assessed completeness, the richness, and the clarity of the review
- Submit D-1 before week 3

WEEK 4
Make a comparative review about political ideologies: Liberalism, Conservatism, and
Socialism
- minimum 500 words maximum 1000 word
- file in .doc or .docx
- Use min 3 references from books and 2 from others
- You need to compare not only mention and describe the political ideologies but
compare them.
- Submit D-1 before week 4

GROUP ASSIGNMENT
Mahasiswa dibagi menjadi enam kelompok
Tugas terkait dengan materi di pertemuan ke – 12 tentang kekuatan-kekuatan
politik.Bacalah materi di bawah ini
Haniah Hanafie dan Ana Sabhna Azmy (2018) menjelaskan bahwa bahwa
kekuatan-kekuatan politik adalah “sejumlah kelompok yang paling mampu
melakukan proses tawar-menawar, mengerahkan sumber-sumber kekuasaan
secara maksimal dengan memilih saluran yang tepat untuk menyalurkan
aspirasi mereka.
Miriam Budiarjo (1988:52) menjelaskan bahwa kekuatan politik bisa
Individual maupun kelembagaan yang bertujuan untuk mempengaruhi proses
pengambilan keputusan dalam sistem politik
Bahtiar Efffendi (2000: 197) : Mengemukakan bahwa kekuatan-kekuatan
politik adalah segalah sesuatu yang berperan dan berpengaruh serta terlibat
secara aktif didalam dunia politik. Kekuatan-kekuatan politik dibagi menjadi:
formal dan non-formal. Formal: Partai Politik Non Formal: NGO, Kelompok
Usaha, dll
Haniah Hanafie dan Ana Sabhna Azmy (2018) mengidentifikasi 11 kelompok
Kekuatan Politik: Militer, LSM, Partai Politik, Organisasi Buruh, Golongan
Intelektual, Pers dan Media Massa, Mahasiswa, Agama, Pengusaha, o
Lembaga Survei dan o Birokrasi.

Tugas:
Carilah sebuah isu dimana bisa diidentifikasi keberadaan (setidaknya) salah
satu dari kekuatan politik yang diidentifikasi Haniah Hanafie dan Ana Sabhna
Azmy (2018). Uraikan:
Isu yang anda pilih
Apa tujuan dari kekuatan politik yang anda pilih?
Bagaimana cara mereka terlibat dalam proses politik yang terjadi?
Bagaimana hasilnya?
Kesimpulan: Apa fungsi dari kekuatan-kekuatan politik dalam perpolitikan
di Indonesia
Tulis dalam paper 15 halaman, font Times New Roman, 12 pts, spasi 1,5,
pengutipan dengan menggunakan catatan kaki, referensi minimal 10.
Siapkan presentasi 10 menit, maksimal 6 slide
Dipresentasikan (recorded) pada pertemuan ke – 12 (9 Desember 2020).
Masing-masing magasiswa diwajibkan untuk berkomentar bertanya/ikut
menjawab di kolom komentar presentasi. Keaktifan mahasiswa akan dihitung
sebagai presensi mahasiswa untuk pertemuan tersebut.
Paper dikumpulkan pada hari yang sama di tempat yang sama.

on time (30% of grade)
