G. Classroom Policy
1. Inside the classroom, we shall adhere to all regulations outlined in the school handbook or as directed by the administration.
3. Maintain an optimistic outlook, kindly notify me if you want assistance; I am available, eager and delighted to assist you with any task that
comes your way and troubles you.
4. Be punctual, if you are not seated and prepared to work at the time the bell sounds, rings, you will be classified as being late.
5. Display courtesy toward your peers and instructor. Raise your hand if you want to contribute a remark on the class conversation, but refrain
from interfering. Explore the subject; if you finish early, find something to do.
6. Submit the assigned work; failing to fulfil an assignment may result in failure. Additionally, zeros might sabotage your grade.
9. Cell phones are not to be brought to class, maintain them in a secure location and make sure to switch it off.
10. No food or drink is permitted inside the classroom when discussions and activities are on-going. (Bottled water is permitted)
11. Students will get three opportunities every class session to visit the restrooms, dressing rooms, and offices are all available. You must make
use of one of the three available hall passes. I granted permission to leave the room at the start of the class. Without a pass, you will be unable
to exit.
12. Students who violate classroom rules will be disciplined; Consequences that are appropriate for the violation may include parent contact
and/or a recommendation to the principal.
Grading Policies:
ABSENCES
Each student is permitted a maximum of 5 absences each semester. Anything over that does not qualify for credit. Bring doctor's notes with
you to the appointment.
When a student is absent, he or she is responsible for making up for missed work. Students should come to me to get and turn in late
assignments. One day is granted for each day lost, plus one for make-up work.
GRADES
Assignments and quizzes have a point value of 25% in total and exams carry a point value of 55. Projects may be valued more or less than a
homework assignment, depending on their scope; students will be informed of the project's value in advance. In my class, tardiness is strongly
discouraged. Procrastination is a detrimental behaviour that severely lowers a student's grade. Late work will be accepted for half credit only if
it is sent more than one week late. Following that, no credit will be granted.
H. Attendance
Absences are limited to 20% of the total number of attendance or nine (9) hours for a three-unit course. If students get more than nine
absences they will automatically be dropped out. A student who had been absent during the exam will be given a chance to take the
examination only if the reason is valid. A student is expected to show proof of reason.
Consultation Hours
I'm anticipating a fantastic year. I wish to inspire you to become stronger, more confident writers and thinkers, and to use your writing to learn
more about yourself and your world. Take pleasure in being in a class with others who share your passion for creative writing. May you all
succeed in your writing endeavours!
