What or Product Does:: Questionnaire

This document describes the design and implementation of a digital fuel gauge for vehicles. It aims to accurately measure the quantity of fuel in the tank and display it digitally. The system uses an ultrasonic sensor connected to an Arduino microcontroller to measure the fuel level. The Arduino then calculates the amount of fuel in liters and sends this value to be displayed on an LCD screen. The system provides a more accurate reading of remaining fuel compared to analog fuel gauges. It was tested across different vehicle speeds and loads, with the data analyzed to validate the design.

WHAT OR PRODUCT DOES:

Existing gasoline indicators in automobiles such as Honda, Yamaha etc. Display gasoline in the
manner specified and analogue meters, causing inaccuracy as to how far the vehicle can travel with
the amount of fuel in the tank. One of the primary issues with kick-start motor cars is that if the
battery is drained, the self-start motor would not respond, resulting in a dangerous situation for the
driver. Because the world has been more computerized in recent years, making the fuel meter in
the car digital will allow us to know the exact amount of fuel in the tank. We created a digital
gasoline meter as part of our project. And here's a digital representation of the quantity of petrol in
the container. That number has digits in it. A proposal for a computerized system of measurement
that displays various parameters such as fuel quantity and battery health is presented in this project.
By showing the amount of gasoline in quantitative notation, i.e. in milliliters, the fuel indicator that
we use provides us with a 100 percent accurate result. The microcontroller is at the heart of the
project, making essential decisions based on sensor inputs and displaying the findings in electronic
medium. An ultrasonic sensor are attached to an analogue to digital controller (ADC), which
transforms the sensor's analogue output voltages to digitally and feeds it to the micro.
The focus of this study is on the signaling of gasoline level when compared tank. Various other
elements, such as the distance that can be driven to the associated gasoline, are added to this
layout, explaining the vehicle's obvious efficiency to the associated fuel. The majority of today’s
modern petrol stations have defrauded the pumps so that the amount entered is displayed, but the
quantity of gas filled in the patient's tank is substantially less than that of the stated value. The
petrol bunks profit handsomely as a result of this, but the customers are duped. Because all
automobiles in India use analogue metres, it is impossible to determine exactly how much fuel is
now in the vehicle or to cross-check the amount of fuel that has been filled in the fuel tank.

A gasoline provisions relating and a ratio pressure gauge will be attached to the microcontroller so that the
quantity of gas in the car's tanks could be read as well as the current status of the gear level. The arduino
microcontroller receives a signal from an ultrasonic sensor, which is a non - contact type sensor. The
microprocessor then determines the level based on the digital value multiplied by the volume of the tank at
that level and displays the result on the screen as a digital numeric number. The hover sensors were
employed as the fuel sensor. The gasoline level and gearing levels are displayed on the LCD panel, which is
connected to the Microcontroller board. The LCD screen digitally displays the amount of fuel in the gas
tank.
The proposed concept entails using an ultrasonic technology for gasoline measuring to obtain the measured
fuel level and communicate it to a display unit on the dash board. The microprocessor receives data
collected from the sensor. The data is processed by the cpu, which calculates the litre value and sends it to
the display unit. At same time, a volt sensor linked between both the batteries and the Arduino
microprocessor displays the percent of power remaining in the batteries on the digital display.
The following are the several stages involved in the design of this device: The Arduino is powered by the
power source. It's a DC power source that can be powered by a 9-volt DC battery or a controlled power
source. A walk converter reduces the reference voltage from 240V AC to 12V AC in the power supply.
With a rectifier circuit, the 12V AC is converted to 12V DC.
The use of a capacitor eliminates the waves in the full - wave rectifier wave. Using the variable voltage
LM7809, this is then controlled to 9V. The ir sensors is employed in this research. The ultrasonic, which is
attached directly to the vehicle's gasoline tank, will detect/find the tank's fuel gauge in litres. With the signal
from the sensors, the Arduino microcontroller performs the necessary calculations for the quantity of gas in
the tank and the appropriate length to be travelled by the car. The Arduino is connected to a Liquid Crystal
Display (LCD), which describes the number of gas in the tank and the route to travel.
PROCEDURE:
There are various sensor-based approaches currently on the market to detect liquid level and give you a
close notion of the amount of the liquids, but they can't give you an exact estimate of amount like fuel
metres in cars, which tell us if the tank is full, half full, or emptied. In tanks, the liquid level detector and
optimizer are vital for indicating the amount of liquid of a specific density. In this research, we offer a
mechanism for measuring the amount of liquid accessible in a tank while also providing information on its
chemical characteristics and fuel purity level.
But in our project fuel gauges work by determining the level of fuel by measuring the voltage across a
resistive element within the sensing system, which will then be conveyed to the operator through the
signaling system. The float switch, an adjustable resistor, and a wiper are all part of the sensing system,
which allows it to determine how much fuel is in a tank. Although newer sensor systems can also use
microprocessors for faster and more precise measurements, the sensor system is relatively basic compared
to certain other sensors presently offered.
Using load sensors, this gadget digitally displays the level of liquid inside the tank, the composition of the
gasoline, and the vehicle's operating capacity. The data were measured with a level of precision of 95
percent to 98 percent. As a result, it is an effective device designed with oil thefts at various fuel pumps at
the moment of tank filling in consideration. All fuel bunks now include several sorts of display screens to
show the worth of fuel being added to the vehicle. However, we have no way of knowing if they are adding
accurate value or not. Throughout this research, we offer a method for determining the quantity of gas
remaining in a container under both static and dynamic conditions. This process utilizes a load detector, an
injector, and a motion detector to digitally show the level of fuel from the inside of the tank, and these
sensors are connected to an Arduino programming board. As a result, it is an effective device for detecting
the amount of fuel in the gas tanks.
POLICIES

Build a Arduino board with a fuel-measurement application. The first stage is to draw a diagram of each of
the program's components. The circuit diagrams are created using OrCAD Capture. It's one of the most
powerful design platforms for getting today's innovative products from concept to reality.

PCB printing starts with the architects' design data being sent into a powerful LaserJet printer, which uses
exceedingly accurate printing technique to develop an extremely detailed movie of the PCB design. The
most common element of PCB is a laminated board known as substratum. The metal that constructs the
PCB is received by the lamination, which acts as a perfect image.

This concept was conceived for the benefit of the general public. Petrol prices are rising every day, and it's
becoming a major issue. At the moment, none of the bikes on the market have a computerized fuel meter.

Observations of the battery indication are made while the bike is kept still. As a result, if the motorcycle is
left idle for an extended amount of time, the battery will be depleted. When we restart the bike, the
ignition is turned on, and the battery is charged while it is in motion.

Testing and implementation of the system The work's development is separated into two sections: software
implementation and hardware implementation. The work's development is separated into two sections:
software implementation and hardware implementation.
Software Implementation: The Arduino Microcontroller microprocessor will programmed using the
Arduino Integrated Development Environment (IDE) program, which will be installed on a personal
computer (PC). The Arduino code will be written in C, compiled, and uploaded to the Arduino
Microcontroller board through the club's tiny USB connector.
Hardware Implementation:
This proposal's design and implementation was divided into three sections. Breadboarding of the parts,
installation and solder of the elements on Vero board, and packing of the whole circuit are the stages.
