Level of the Effectiveness of Educational System During Pandemic:
( Modular, Online Class, Face to face) Students and Teachers
Introduction
Issues have been expressed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in the
Philippines, where 7.3 million Filipinos have lost their money and schools have been
closed since March 2020, about young girls being vulnerable to early pregnancy
because they are not in their usual protective physical surroundings of the school
environment.2,411 females aged 10 to 14 gave birth in 2019 or before the outbreak.
In the last 11 years, the country has seen an increase in the number of pregnant
teens.According to a two-month DOST- NRCP study led by Dr. Gloria Luz Nelson,
NRCP member of Division VIII (Social Sciences), a sociologist by training with a
focus on Population Studies, the pandemic is not the cause of teenage pregnancy,
but rather a number of mediating factors such as school closures, dysfunctional
families, and a lack of access to sexual and reproductive health education.
The results of this study provide a deeper insight into the perceptions, feelings,
opinions, and experiences of the students during the COVID-19 pandemic. The data
obtained help to identify the areas of recurring problems of the students, as well as
possible difficulties in their academic functioning. Formed categories and
subcategories related to classroom teaching can largely be used in understanding
the perceptions and experiences of students in all academic disciplines. In the
literature, there is a limited number of studies on the problems faced by
students, parents, and teachers in distance education during the Covid-19 period.
Apriyanti (2020) found in their research that kindergarten and primary school parents
face problems during the Covid-19 pandemic such as being unable to guide their
children to learn and children’s lack of concentration, unwillingness to learn, desire to
go to school, inability to learn online and limited comprehension of the material.
Face to Face learning, this is where the teacher and the student meet in a set place
for a set time, for either one-on-one learning or, most commonly, in group class
lessons similar to what happens in school. Face-to-face learning is a really effective
way to learn knowledge and skills because it often combines different ways of
learning including writing, reading, discussion, presentations, projects, group work,
film clips, demonstration, and practice. The Advantages of Face to Face Learning in
the Classroom You'll be able to concentrate harder on your learning because there’ll
be less distraction than if you were at home. You can gain greater understanding,
stories and real-world examples from teachers and other students, you have a
greater chance of completing your course successfully by doing it in a classroom
situation. (Completion rate of teacher-led classes is almost 5x higher than that of
online learning)You may feel more comfortable and learn more easily in a familiar,
traditional classroom situation. You can access more information and richer
understanding through the teacher and other students’ body language and voice.
You have the opportunity to connect with, problem-solve, and network with other
students from a wide range of backgrounds.
An online learning course is one you take online using a computer, without being with
a teacher or other students in a classroom. You have greater flexibility and can study
from home. Most courses don’t need you to be online at a certain time of day or
night, but you must actively participate in the course during the course time frame.
The
Advantages of an Online Learning course
You can study in the comfort of your own home, or wherever you want
It costs less – no need to travel for training, and no parking expenses
You will avoid being late to class, or getting distracted in class
You have access to the course 24/7
It may be more relaxed for you than in a classroom setting
You are able to build up your skills interacting with technology
It suits if you have different learning styles
Importance of the study
The aim of this qualitative research study is to explore the experiences
of the students and teachers. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of
online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research includes survey
methods conducted online. Primary data collection in this study was carried out by
distributing questionnaires online to 115 respondents. Data obtained by filling out
questions that were distributed to all respondents in the form of Google on the link
https://forms.gle/VbqM7myWhwdfpMfc9. Furthermore, the collected data was
analyzed to be described. The results of data analysis obtained from filling student
questionnaires can be concluded that the online learning system carried out during
the COVID-19 pandemic is effective and inefficient. Effectively implemented because
of the conditions that require online study and inefficient because the costs incurred
more when compared with offline lectures
.Future Researchers. The findings of this study will be used as a reference
and a guide material for future researchers who desired to conduct the same
research study in relation to Level of the Effectiveness of Educational System

Research questions
This study aims to explore the experiences and challenges of the students in the
new learning system, it sought to answer the following:
1. Why is it hard for the students to learn during pandemic?
2. Who are the students that excelled in class, but because of remote learning, are
struggling now?
3. Who were the students that struggled to learn before distance learning and were
impacted the most during the shift to learning at home?
4. Who are the students that are anticipating will most likely still be struggling again
due to potentially even larger learning gaps?
5. Who are the students who excelled in class during pandemic?
