This assignment requires you to examine and analyse several areas of study within the
Module. You are expected to demonstrate and will be evaluated on the following
outcomes.
1. Analyse the relationship between business ethics, law, morality, cultural norms
and personal conscience.
2. Apply the different theories and frameworks learned in this module to solve
ethical dilemmas and support ethical arguments.
3. Evaluate the effects of different ethical issues across the business spectrum on
the operation and decision-making of business corporations.
4. Evaluate the arguments for and against the incorporation of corporate social
responsibility (CSR) into the business operation, models and strategies.
5. Engage in critical discussions with other people, consider their different views
and make presentation of their arguments.
You should begin thinking about the assignment early in the course.

Choose ONE (1) company that implementing Artificial Intelligence
1. Investigate whether the selected company was involved in any unethical
business practices/ scandals (year 2012 and above) and explain how it affected
the firm’s stakeholders.
2. Critically discuss the company’s policy, code of ethics provisions, and/or
existing laws regarding any unethical business practice.
3. Suggest some alternative courses of action that the company should have taken
to deal with the unethical business practices/scandals. You should be able to
support your suggestions based on some ethical reasoning or ethical theories.

A written essay of approximately 2,500 words addressing the issues as stated above.
Point to note: Maximum penalty for exceeding the word limit will be a reduction
to a PASS grade.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
65% – 74% This will be equivalent to a Credit. This would represent extremely
good work demonstrating an in depth understanding of material and
sound analysis and conclusions.
