ABSTRACT

“Cleaning is the process of removing unwanted substances, such as dirt,

infectious agents, and other impurities, from an object or environment.
Cleaning occurs in many different contexts and uses many different methods. An
adage says that ‘your space reflects your state of mind’. Thus, a clean workspace
means you are constructive and productive. On the other hand, hoarding and
disorganization causes extreme anxiety during decision making according
to  Psychology Today”. -google Wikipedia.

Nowadays, technologies have become dominant in our entire world which affect
our surrounding and environment. One of the technologies effects that we can see
now is types of pollution that leads to uncleanliness, untidiness, wastage and else.
Apart from this problem, a problem solver has been introduced to our community.
Since 200BC to 4000BC, the clean materials have been introduced to our world.

Pepatah mengatakan ‘ruang anda
mencerminkan keadaan fikiran anda’. Oleh itu, ruang kerja yang bersih
bermakna anda membina dan produktif. Sebaliknya, penimbunan dan
penyusunan menyebabkan kebimbangan melampau semasa membuat keputusan
mengikut Psikologi Hari Ini ". -google Wikipedia.

CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

1.1 Introduction

Cleanliness of electrical workshops. Keeping the workspace clean, comfortable and

organized is one of factor that we need to consider before starting a works. It can help
prevent or reduce the occurrence of slips, trips, and falls in the workspace. In electrical
workshop, we done many things such as designing & troubleshooting an electrical
circuit. The most used equipment during wiring is wire. Mostly, we cut it to the length
needed. After that, we need to clean up the cut off wire. Cleaning can be easier and more
enjoyable with great gadget that we had nowadays. Such as, smartphones.

Smartphones is a cellular telephone with an integrated computer and other features

typically having a touchscreen interface, battery, speaker, and other features that not
originally associated with telephones, such as an operating system, web browsing and the
ability to run software applications. With smartphone nowadays there a more thing we
can do more than just to make calls, sent messages, and took photos. Such as searching
an information. Surfing a website is much easier now because most of the smartphones
nowadays equipped with great wireless connectivity. For an example, the 4G/ 5G
connectivity with ultrafast download / upload data speed. As a remote control. As years
by years the technology in smartphone growth rapidly. Some models of smartphone had
IR Blaster sensor build in, that enables to control others electronic equipment such as,
control television through a phone. Imagine, cleaning your workspace just by using your
smartphone?
1.2 Background Research

Cleaning tools is a very helpful tools to make the cleaning process faster, easier &
effective. A clean workspace also can help to maintain focus and increase efficiency. A
muddle work area makes you waste time looking for things that you immediately need. In
addition, the excess clutter can also let your mind get distracted easily because it is constantly
trying to make sense of the disorganization. Keeping it clean will make it easier to focus on
projects instead. And not just that, but it also affects our surrounding, places house and
anywhere else. For example, in a workplace which includes the electrical equipment and
materials.
1.3 Problem Statement

Uncleanliness and untidiness have gave many impacts to our society which includes
every aspect in our daily day. Not only that, but it also affects our surrounding, places house
and else. For example, in a workplace which includes the electrical equipment and materials.
Somehow, a cleaner needs a tool to clean the electrical workshop specially to wipe the cut-off
wire. There’re only a few vacuums in the market are not effective enough. Not only that, it
also can save a time and ease up all the mobility. In this situation, there is so many inventions
that have been introduce to society such as an upgraded broom and mop, an upgraded
vacuum cleaner and any other mainstream cleaning product.

Back in the years of 2002 where the first generation of Electrolux Ultra Silencer which
has become the largest platform of cleaning product in the world which been acknowledgement
until these days.(https://www.electroluxgroup.com/en/new-innovations-behind-the-quietest-
vacuum-cleaner-17967/). This invention has an “Silent Air Technology” which solve all
annoying factor that consumer have experienced.

Therefore, the project that we have propose have the capability to achieving the
following objectives:

a) The ability to maximize cleanliness and tidiness after working in workplace.

b) The ability to conduct or to control our inventions through IOT and smartphone-
based system.

c) The ability to used and learn a microcontroller function in our inventions.

1.4 Objective Project

The main objective of this project is:

1. To design a machine with the ability to maximize cleanliness and tidiness at
workplace surroundings.
2. To implement an IOT and Smartphone based system in our invention.
3. To develop an easy programmable machine with Arduino materials that could
be use in daily life.

1.5 Scope Project

This project is focusing:
- Student who is studying any electrical course.
- Workers who is working with electrical materials/equipment.
The main controller is using:
- Smart phone-based system.
- NodeMCU ESP8266

1.6 Chapter Summary

A healthy workplace environment is ideal when it comes to maintaining a positive
outcome in a stressful atmosphere. The most important thing that influences employee
motivation and happiness, and how productive and efficient they can be, all goes down to
their working environment. That is why we want to create one simple and easy to use
equipment during cleaning our workspace.
CHAPTER 2

LITERATURE REVIEW

2.1 Introduction

A healthy workplace environment is ideal when it comes to maintaining a

positive outcome in a stressful atmosphere. The most important thing that influences
employer motivation and happiness, and how productive and efficient they can be, all goes
down to their working environment. Healthy does not only constitute as needing medical
attention, it could also be the outlook of the workplace and even the surroundings.

2.2 Concepts/ Theory

The meaning of clean usually refers to removing something unwanted: you clean your
hands by washing them, then you can clean some grapes. This word has many meanings
related to being pure or empty. ... If the floor is clean enough to eat off, it's very clean.
– ‘Dictionary definition’

2.3 Control System

A control system is a system of devices that manages, commands, directs or regulates

the behaviours of other devices to achieve a desired result. Control systems are used to
increased productivity and improved performance of a device or system. Automation is used
to improve productivity and obtain high-quality products. Automation is the automatic
operation or control of a process, device, or system. For this project, we are using Micro
Controller: NodeMCU ESP8266

Figure 1.0 Block diagram of our control system

2.4 Different type of controller

2.4.1 Microcontroller

A microcontroller is a compact integrated circuit designed to govern a specific

operation in an embedded system. A typical microcontroller includes a processor, memory
and input/output (I/O) peripherals on a single chip. An input and output that can be controlled
by the microcontroller. A microcontroller is embedded inside of a system to control a
singular function in a device. It does this by interpreting data it receives from its I/O
peripherals using its central processor. The temporary information that the microcontroller
receives is stored in its data memory, where the processor accesses it and uses instructions
stored in its program memory to decipher and apply the incoming data. It then uses its I/O
peripherals to communicate and enact the appropriate action.7

2.4.2 Arduino

Arduino is designed to make electronics more accessible to artists, designers,

hobbyists, and anyone who interested in creating interactive objects or environments. It also
an open-source prototyping platform used for building electronics projects. It consists of both
a physical programmable circuit board and a software, or IDE (Integrated Development
Environment) that runs on your computer or smartphones, where you can write and upload
the codes to the physical board. We can setup or change the input and output of the Arduino
based on our needs.

2.5 Chapter Summary

In this chapter we were learn about concepts & theory of project and some of the
main components that are being used for completing this project. Such as, the definition of
Microcontroller & Arduino and their basic information. Thus, their function in this project as
one of the control systems that we are developing.
CHAPTER 3
