Introduction:
This project is about designing a computer network for the company. Logical and physical design diagram, test plan table whether
the network is working properly, and the results of a preliminary test of

P5 Provide a logical/physical design of the networked system with clear explanation and addressing table.
I. Provide a logical/physical design of the networked system
A) Physical Topology :
Physical topology indicates arrangement of different elements of a network. It reflects physical layout of devices and cables
to a form a connected network. It is concerned with essentials of network ignoring minute details like transfer of data and
device type. The pattern of arrangement of nodes (computers) and network cables depends on ease of installation and setup
of the network. It affects cost and bandwidth capacity based on solution of devices. It takes into account placement of nodes
and distance between them. Devices can be arranged to form a ring (Ring Topology) or linearly connected in a line called Bus
Topology.

B) Logical Topology :
Logical Topology reflects arrangement of devices and their communication. It is the transmission of data over physical
topology. It is independent of physical topology, irrespective of arrangements of nodes. It is concerned with intricate details
of network like type of devices (switches, routers) chosen and their quality, which affect rate and speed of data packets
delivery. The logical topology ensures optimal flow control that can be regulated within network.
The data can either flow in a linear pattern called Logical bus or in form of a circle Logical ring.

II. Discuss and explain the user requirement for the design
- People: 200 students, 15 teachers, 12 marketing and administration staff, 5 higher managers including the head of
academics and the programme manager, 3 computer network administrators.
- Resources: 50 student lab computers, 35 staff computers, 3 printers.
- Building: 3 floors, all computers and printers are on the ground floor apart from the IT labs – one lab located on the first
floor and another located on the second floor.
- Solutions =>
- Ground floor: including 35 staff computers, 3 printers
- First floor: 25 computers
5
- Second floor: 25 computers remain

P6 Evaluate  the design to meet the requirements.

1. Test plan

Test Number What is being tested Expected outcome

1 Check the DHCP address of Student PCs on the first floor DHCP requested successfully
2 Check the DHCP address of Student PCs on second floor DHCP requested successfully
3 Check the DNS server of the Student PCs DNS server should be 10.0.0.6
4 Check the DNS server of the Staff PCs DNS server should be 10.0.0.6
5 Ping PC1 to PC 25 Pinged successfully
6 Ping PC1 to PC 50 Pinged successfully
7 Ping PC1 to Admin Pinged successfully
8 Ping Admin to Staff PC Pinged successfully
9 Check physical connection All is green

9
2. Evaluate the design of the network
- My network model has many bugs, but I'll bark back if something goes wrong
- The ip address does not follow the rules, so it is very confusing, disruptive
- But, my design has met the following conditions:
+ Building: 3 floors, all computers and printers are on the ground floor apart from the IT labs - one lab located on the first
floor and another located on the second floor.
+ Resources: 50 student lab computers, 35 staff computers, 3 printers
+ Easy to repair

10
P7 Implement a networked system based on a prepared design.

1. Show evidence of a working network you’ve design

2. Then I will test the result after configure at PC _Staff_1 to request IP from DHCP automatically:

3.

11
4. Ping PC_25 to PC_1 and result is successfully:

13
14
5.
6. Next, ping PC_26 to PC_50 and result is successfully:

15
7.

8.
9. And ping PC_1 to PC_50, result is successfully:

12. Ping PC_Staff_1 to PC_Staff_35 and result is successfully:

13.
14.

16. Show the implemented system
The result of network is green all devices has connect success:

P8 Document and analyze test results against expected results.

1. The step by step to config device:

In this part, I will choose an any computer to config DHCP and Ping of PC to Router.
First thing, i will connect the port to configure fa1/0. Now, I will show configure the router to have an ip address: 192.168.1.2 and the subnet
mask is 255.255.255.0
Next, i will configure PC_Staff_1 in the ground floor with IP: 172.16.10.1 and DNS server of GOOGLE : 10.0.0.6, the FastEthernet port 0. And
subnet mask is: 255.255.255.0 default gateway is: 172.16.10.1

DHCP request provide IP from PC Staff 1 to server is successfully at ground floor:

22
DHCP request provide IP from PC Staff 35 to server is successfully at ground floor:

23
DHCP request provide IP from PC_1(first floor) to server is successfully:

24
DHCP request provide IP from PC_25(first floor) to server is successfully:
25
DHCP request provide IP from PC_26(second floor) to server is successfully:

26
DHCP request provide IP from PC_50(second floor) to server is successfully:

27
28
2. Analyze the test results:

2 Check the DHCP address of one of PCs on the DHCP has request DHCP address has been Pass

3 Ping PC1 to PC25 on the first floor. Ping successfully. 0% loss. Pass
4 Ping PC26 to PC50 on the second floor. Ping successfully. 0% loss. Pass
5 Ping PC_Staff _1 to PC_Staff _35. Ping successfully. 0% loss. Pass

6 Check physical connection logical. All connection. All connection. Pass

Conclusion:
Through the preliminary test results of the network, the operation is stable, and the results are as expected and all physical connections are
good without interruption.

Evaluation:

According to me the views and definitions of the devices as well as the purpose of use and how it works, I have to learn and give my
understanding about them. The design is simple, not fussy but easy to use for users as well as easy to administer and maintain the computer for
administrators.
