A multi-grade class consists of two or more grade levels taught by one teacher. It exists in rural areas where student numbers are small and opening single-grade classes is not feasible. While it provides access to education for rural students, it also presents challenges for both students and teachers. Teachers must carefully group students, prepare flexible materials, and promote self-paced learning to address different needs within the class. Effective multi-grade teaching requires strong planning, organization, and community involvement from teachers.
