Behavior of Gases

This document provides information about gas behavior and properties. It includes a series of true/false and multiple choice questions about gas laws, as well as sample math problems applying concepts like Boyle's law, Charles' law, and the combined gas law. The document also lists key terms related to the kinetic molecular theory of gases such as temperature, pressure, volume, amount of gas, and molecular motion.

What’s In: What’s new:
1. Fact 6. Fact 1. Nothing was changed, it didn’t inflate.
2. Fact 7. Bluff 2. It is easy to blow the balloon, it became big
quickly.
3. Fact 8. Bluff
3. It didn’t inflate inside the battle because it is
4. Fact 9. Fact
already occupied by air, so there is no way to
5. Bluff 10. Fact inflate the balloon.

What’s More: Activity 5 Practice Math

1. atm= 0.626 because 1 atm is equal to 760mmHg since
the problem has 476mmHg so divide it to 760 to get the
answer.
2. K= 360 to convert Celsius to Kelvin just add 273 to get
the answer.
3. mol=0.8 What’s In: Activity 6 Match Me
A. gas and pressure
B. gas and volume
C. gas and temperature
D. gas and amount of gas

2. Boyles Law 3. Kelvin
4. A
3. Universal Gas Constant 4. Standard
5. B
4. Mole
5. Ideal Gas Law
6. Avogadro’s Law
Activity 9: Problem Solving
1. P2=12.5 atm because P1V1=P2V2 so (5atm)(75l)=(P2)(30l) then P2=(5atm)
(75l)/30L so 12.5 atm.
2. T2=375.38 K we’re going to find the value of T2 so T2=T1xP2/P1 substitute the
given variables, T2=273Kx2.0 atm/2.75 so the answer is 375.38 .
3. T2=203.86 K we’re going to find T2 so we’re going to use the Formula
T2=V2xT1/V1 the substitute T2= 4.1 x (85+273) / 7.2 = 203.9 K.
4. T2=634.29 K we’re going to find again T2 but our formula will be T₂ =
P₂V₂T₁/P₁V₁ then substitute the values T2= (1.0 atm × 1.0 L × 333 K)/(0.7 atm ×
0.75 L)= 634.29 K
5. 0.45 L we used the formula V2=N2V1/N1 then substitute V2=2x0.8/3.5 then the
answer is 0.45 .
