Sample of Soprano and Singers

Timbre is the quality or characteristic of a sound that distinguishes different instruments, voices, and sounds. The lesson teaches students about timbre by having them identify different sounds and describes how timbre makes each sound unique. Timbre can be used to differentiate between instruments in a song or between voices. There are also different categories of timbre for voices, such as soprano, alto, tenor and bass. The lesson includes examples of different sounds and their timbre, like the round, clear timbre of a flute compared to the light, delicate timbre of a violin.

A Timbre is an element of Music, sometimes called the “color of the music”. It pertains to the type,
quality, or characteristics of the sound or the voice. With the help of Timber, you can distinguish the
different sound produced by a dog or a cat, a sound of a thunder or a bell, the voice of your mother
and your father, and many sounds you heard from your surroundings. The role of the timbre in your
voice is to make it different from another voice, and it makes your voice unique. Each person have a
different voices that depends on the age, gender, and body mass.

(show an example that relate to the differences of voices of the presentor; Jomil, Jayrol, Ian)

Timbre is used to describe sounds, it helps the listener to differentiate the instruments, for example
to this song that is played in two different instruments. We can tell the difference of a guitar and a
ukulele. The sound of a guitar has its own characteristics that made it different to the sound of
ukulele, and the ukulele has its own too.

To describe a timbre of a voice or a sound, we can simply use words that best describe it. It
could be round, rough, smooth, delicate, brassy, bright, metallic, light, clear, husky, and more.
