laws of
nature; instead, they usually help the artist to convey a certain message and express his attitude
towards many things happening in the world. It presents a way of communication that allows people
living in different countries and having different cultural backgrounds to speak the same language, the
one that does not require using words to be understood. Art is a form of expression, artists can express
various sentiments through the force in their brush strokes and through the variations of colors, or
through their lyrics and rhythm of the song. And that is what our artwork demonstrates, on how the arts
progressed and became a significant effect in variously expressing one's emotions and message.
Czara: As seen on the screen, we can see a man's face here; if we look at it this way, it's a happy face; if
we rotate it, it's a sad face. This face is a representation of an artist's face and how art is an illusion.
Illusion in a way that we can't simply detect or see the message the artist is attempting to express
because that's the nature of the arts. It's tricky and deceptive. Sometimes we only see the literal
message, but there is always a deeper and powerful message behind it that we are unaware of. Thus, in
arts, we must have a deeper and creative understanding.
Vannie: It's an artist's face because artists express their feelings through their artwork, whether they're
sad or happy. It's their safe space, stress reliever, and comfort zone; it's the way they voice out their
personal feelings and the message they're meaning to tell to society, which means that every artwork
has a story behind it.
Daryl: A slew of photos can be seen in the background. So we can see in our artwork some pictures
of black lives matter, press freedom, LGBTQ rights, gender equity, women's rights, and so on. And these
are the present concerns/issues confronting the world. We put these problems on here because that is
what contemporary art addresses, the 21st-century issues. Artists don't only express their personal
feelings in their artwork, they also address their sentiments about these issues in their works; they are
voicing their opinions and beliefs. They attempt to open everyone's eyes and hearts to what is going on
in the world, to be conscious. They seek to influence everyone's minds to think wisely in every issues
through their artwork.
Vannie: We can also see photographs of sculptures, paintings, films, drawings, and so on in the
background. This exemplifies today's art, in which we incorporate art into everything we do, even the
most mundane actions.
Vanya: Contemporary art liberates us from the restraints of individual privilege, an act of freedom to
denunciate the insignificance as well as waking us up from ignorance with its urgency to come into
consciousness and fight for what is right. Thus, we consider Contemporary art as our voice, our
collective presence on canvas. A call to consciousness and a cry against the indifference taking over the
society that we live in.
