PCM 600 Instructions: How To Use The IED Order Specific Files
Introduction
This document is designed to instruct the users on how to use the IED order specific files (more
popular known as “option files”), more exactly – how to install them during the new IED insertion and
the Configuration Wizard process.
This step assume that you have order specific files available.
Step 1
Start PCM 600 and insert your IED, the IED Configuration Wizard will then start (see Figure 1).

Select Browse and navigate to the directory containing the previously saved order zip file. Select the
zip file, Open and Next buttons (see Figure 2 and Figure 3).

Enter the IP address for your IED and click Next two times (see Figure 5, Figure 6).

In the next dialog tick “No PreConfig File” and select Finish (see Figure 7).

You are now ready to engineer, exclusively using function blocks that are available in the
present IED.

It is not necessary to use the zipped file for the selected order if you have access to the IED.
When the IED is set up, tick the checkboxes in PCM 600 (see Figure 1 and Figure 7 in the previous
section).
Start the Application Configuration Tool (see Figure 8 in the previous section).

Following the compilation, the IED with the right options is available and functional in the PCM600
project.
You are now ready to engineer only using function blocks that are available in the present IED.
