1. What are you going to do if you have encountered an accident involving the vehicle you are riding
with? Why? 10pts.
First, I will stop and never drive away from the scene of an accident. Protect the scene to prevent
further accidents by setting up flares, or keeping my flashers on because I need to keep myself safe
while I wait in my disabled car or by the side of the road. If I am injured or the other person involved in
the accident got injured, I will seek for immediate medication. Then, if I can, I will call the police and
make an accurate record because I need a police report to file a claim with my insurance company and
to make a claim for damage to my vehicle. I will also take pictures of visible damages and injuries
because it will help the investigation. If I have insurance, I will report the accident to my insurance
company so I can have my medical benefits and the whole coverage of my insurance. Lastly, I will keep
all the documents and records regarding the accident it will help me to protect my rights.
2. How are you going to determine the damage of a certain car caused by collision that will undergo
repair process?
To determine the car's damage caused by collision, we need to bring the car to a body shop or collision
repair shop. Look for a well-trained estimator that will make an appraisal of vehicle damage and
determines what must be done to repair the vehicle. The estimator can determine and show us the
following damages; Minor body damage requires that only a few parts be replaced or repaired before
being refinished or painted. Minor damage is often due to a low-speed "fender bender" in which two
cars hit at low speed or one car runs into something; Major body damage must usually be corrected by
replacing, repairing, and straightening large body parts before refinishing. Parts might have to be cut off
and new ones welded into place; A collision can also be severe enough to cause a total loss, in which
repairs would be more expensive than buying another car. Then, we are going to look for a i nsurance
adjuster that will review the estimates and determines which one best reflects how the vehicle
should be repaired. The adjuster may inspect the wrecked car to determine that the repairs will
be done in a cost-effective fashion for us.
