64 Port DSLAM – Port No. & Inner VLAN Table


Normal Configuration 3 cards in first 3 slots ( 24+24+16 = 64 ports ) with Blank face plate in slot no. 4.
But you can insert an extra add on card of 16/24 ports in slot-4. Calculate Inner VLANs according to equipped cards
and configure the inner VLANs in DSLAM on Uplink Port & on Subscriber ports properly.

To connect PC/Laptop with Management Port of DSLAM, configure the required Host IP & gateway in LAN
Card.

Open Control Panel Network & Sharing Center Manage Network Connections
Local Area Connection -- Properties -- Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) -- Properties

IP - 10.62.5.105 ( IP in valid range of Host IP )


Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway - 10.62.5.101 ( Host IP Configured in DSLAM )

Now go to Start Run Type cmd (Enter)

Give command ping 10.62.5.101 –t (Enter) ( Check ping of Gateway )


telnet 10.62.5.101 (Enter)

Host IP Configured in all ZTE 64p DSLAM is almost same 10.62.5.101


( If this IP is not working Connect to DSLAM through console Port Check Host IP settings in DSLAM
by command “show ip host” )

Note : Telnet Feature is enabled by default in Windows XP.

In Windows Vista & higher version OS first enable the telnet client service.
( If telnet service is not enabled telnet command will show error )
>>>> To enable “Telnet” feature in Windows XP :
( By default Telnet is enabled in XP )

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add / Remove Programs ->


(Click on Turn Windows features on and Off )
Check in “Telnet Client” box & Click OK

Go to Start Run telnet 10.62.5.101


New Telnet Window will appear showing ZTE DSLAM Banner.

>>>> To enable “Telnet” feature in Windows Vista & Higher Version OS :


Go to Start Control Panel Program & Features Turn windows Features ON or OFF
In Windows Features Window find “Telnet Client” &
Check in “Telnet Client” box & Click OK

Go to Start Run telnet 10.62.5.101


New Telnet Window will appear showing ZTE DSLAM Banner.

- in Com1 Properties ( Check the Connected COM Port no. – it may be COM2 / COM4 )
- Restore Defaults
- OK

In Windows Vista & higher versions there is no Hyper Terminal Program by default.

Use the Terminal Emulator Software like - Putty

Select the connection / Protocol type – Serial ( COM Port )


Set the required COM Port parameters & connect / open the appropriate serial Port ( COM1/COM4/COM6)

Now Open Control Panel System Device Manager

When the DSLAM is not connected to Laptop / PC you can’t see the “Ports” in the Device List.
( in Laptop without COM Port )

Connect the USB Jack to Laptop & RJ45 to DSLAM. On connecting to DSLAM you can see the
USB Serial Port (COMx) in Ports ( COM & LPT ) section.

Please verify following data regarding DSLAM before configuration

Concern BNG IP - 10 . aaa . bbb . 1 ( Normally replace last octet of DSLAM IP with 1 )

DSLAM Outer VLAN - - ex. - 3820 ( 4 digit VLAN )


Concern Parent OCLAN / T1 / T2 IP - 10.xxx.yyy.zzz
Concern Parent OCLAN / T1 / T2 side Port No. - ex. FE 4/5 , GE 2/5

On connecting to DSLAM through MGT or CONSOLE port you can see the initial Banner of ZTE DSLAM

If you get error for IP Subnet or IP Route configuration, check for previously configured IPs by “show ip route” &
“show ip subnet” commands.
First delete the old IP Route by “no ip route 0.0.0.0” command &
then delete the old DSLAM IP subnet by “no ip subnet” command.

equipped card port capacity.

In Case of No Ping, Check the Uplink Port ( 5/1 or 5/2 ) Connections, Uplink Media ( Ethernet Cable/ OFC ), Converter
( if any ) , Transmission System Port & OFC /PCM Media between DSLAM & OCLAN/Tier-2.

(config) # adsl-profile BSNL.prf ( Now Configure ADSL Profile Parameters )

After this command, only change the Red coloured Bold line parts to change the
Download & Upload Speed. In all other lines just press Enter to go to next line.
Set the upload & download speed by entering the speed in Kbps as per profile speed like 2MB, 4MB
shown by blue coloured digits & press Enter to continue to next line.

- Check the BNG IP Ping from DSLAM
- Check the LED Status of Uplink Port 5/1 or 5/2 , Control Card, Power Card & Converter.
- Check the DSL Status in a MODEM at different Ports of DSLAM in MDF.

- Contact to SSA NIB Team or Gujarat Circle Broadband NOC or Pune NOC team to check the ping &
Telnet of DSLAM & the Status in concern Parent OCLAN / Tier-1 / Tier-2 & BNG

- Check the OCLAN Port Status ( on which the DSLAM is connected ) in OCLAN
OCLAN Commands > show arp ( Check the uplink port of OCLAN )
> show interface fei_4/5 ( Check the status of OCLAN Port to which DSLAM is connected )
> show mac vlan 3485 ( Check mac addresses for DSLAM outer VLAN )

( Here 3485 = DSLAM’s outer VLAN. Check the MAC for DSLAM Outer VLAN, one MAC on OCLAN Uplink Port & at least
one MAC on the port to which the DSLAM is connected )

- Check the Configuration Status & Passed Inner VLAN of DSLAM in concern BNG
BNG Commands > context local
> show configuration | begin 3859 ( 3859 = DSLAM Outer VLAN )
Check that all inner VLANs of DSLAM are shown in configuration. Inform Pune NOC Team to configure for remaining
inner VLANs.

- Check the Up/Active subscribers of DSLAM in concern BNG


BNG Commands > context mgmt
> show subscribers all | grep 3859: ( DSLAM Outer VLAN & “:” colon sign )
Check the user ID list of connected/up Subscribers of DSLAM in BNG. In case of Up subscribers are shown in DSLAM
but no Up subscribers are shown in BNG, Inform Pune NOC team to check the DSLAM & Parent OCLAN/T1/T2
configuration.
>>>> ZTE 64p DSLAM – Fan Module Cleaning Process

Loose the Fan Tray Screw. Takeout the Fan Tray Carefully.

Clean both fans with blower properly. Use Lubrication Oil for smooth running of fan If necessary.
Clean the empty fan slot properly.
Set the clean fan slot in DSLAM & check the fan & temperature status in DSLAM by
“show temperature-check“ command. Try to Maintain the temperature below 40 degree C.

installed at important Taluka/District/SSA level in Gujarat Circle
