A USB flash drive is a flash memory data storage device integrated with a USB (Universal Serial Bus)
interface. USB flash drives are removable and rewritable, and they're small enough to be carried in a (1)
pocket. These portable drives are faster, have thousands of times more capacity, and are more durable
and reliable than CD-ROMs because of their lack of (2) moving parts. Unlike most removable drives, a

Bus).USB flash drive dapat dilepas dan dapat ditulis ulang, dan cukup kecil untuk dibawa dalam saku.
Drive portabel ini lebih cepat, memiliki ribuan kapasitas lebih banyak, dan lebih tahan lama serta dapat
diandalkan daripada CD-ROM karena mereka tidak meiliki bagian yang bergerak. Tidak seperti
kebanyakan drive yang dapat dilepas, drive USB tidak memerlukannya reboot setelah terpasang, mereka
sangat kuat dan sangat berguna . Mereka hanya perlu dicolokkan ke USB port untuk bekerja dan mereka
cocok dengan semua yang modern operasi sistem seperti Linux, Mac OS X dan Windows.

Flash drive terdiri dari papan sirkuit kecil yang membawa elemen sirkuit dan konektor USB,
diisolasi secara elektrik dan dilindungi di dalam penutup plastic .Drive sering digunakan sebagai media
cadangan untuk menyimpan data, karena sangat ramah bagi pengguna dan dapat dibawa ke tempat yang
aman meskipun cukup besar untuk membackup. Selain itu, flash drive lebih murah dan tidak terlalu rapuh
daripada banyak sistem cadangan lainnya. Satu satunya kerugiannya adalah mudah hilang karena
ukurannya dan mudah hilang.orang-orang tanpa hak atas data untuk melakukan backup ilegal. Beberapa
flash drive yang diproduksi secara khusus dilengkapi dengan logam atau kotak karet yang dirancang agar
tahan air dan hampir tidak bisa dipecahkan. Telah diuji bahwa flash drive ini dapat dipertahankan ingatan
mereka bahkan setelah tenggelam dalam air,dimasukkan ke dalam mesin cuci dan ditabrak dengan mobil.
