Good day everyone! I am Jenilyn C. Esposo from Obtec Nl 2. Today we will discuss the Fibonacci
Sequence and The Golden ratio found in Nature. But before that, let's have a simple recap.
Fibonacci Sequence was discovered by an Italian Mathematician, Leonardo Pisano Bogollo better known
by his nickname Fibonacci meaning "Son of Bonacci". It was the outcome of his study about the rabbit
breeding mathematical problem. Fibonacci Sequence is a series of numbers in which a given number is
the result of adding the two preceeding numbers starting from 0 and 1.
Therefore, the Fibonacci numbers in the Sequence are 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34 and so on.
The Fibonacci Sequence and the golden ratio are intimately interconnected. ... Any two successive
Fibonacci numbers have a ratio very close to the Golden Ratio, which is roughly 1.618034.
Golden ratio is
Golden Ratio, represented by the Greek letter “phi” is also known as Golden Mean,
Golden Section and Divine proportion because of its frequency in the natural world .
It's the ratio of a line segment broken into two portions of various lengths so that the whole segment to
the longer segment is equal to the longer segment to the shorter segment.

Now that we have discussed the Fibonacci Sequence and Golden Ratio let us look around and discover
how it is applied. Fibonacci Sequences are everywhere. This may sound crazy, but yes, it is. The
architecture, Nature, and even our body portrays it.. A lot more areas consists of Fibonacci Sequence
and Golden Ratio but since we are focusing on Fibonacci Sequence and Golden Ratio in Nature, then I
will give you some examples.
Since we are talking about Fibonacci Sequence and Golden Ratio in Nature, I will show three
examples of it.
Flowers for example have a numbers of petals that belong to the Fibonacci numbers.
These are just some of the flowers that have Fibonacci Sequence. There's a lot more. Some flowers
contain 8, 21,34 petals and so on and so forth.
Besides of counting the number of leaves and petals, Constructing several squares using the measure of
a Fibonacci and tracing the diagonals will result in a Fibonacci spiral that approximates the golden ratio.
It can be observed in the formation of hurricanes, waves, galaxy, egg and fingerprints. But for today, I
will use egg as an illustration to Fibonacci Spiral.
Examine the distance from your elbow to your wrist then from wrist then to the tip of the middle finger.
Have you ever thought that ihere is something like this? Cause I will honestly say that I’m not, But not
until today. The wonders of Mathematics makes us wonder more. Is there something hidden again?
