On the first day of the webinar, the first topic that was discussed was entitled Redefining the Role of a
Teacher. It was about how pandemic affected and changed the roles of a teacher in the learning setup
that the Philippine education system have adjusted. The different learning delivery modes were also
discussed in the webinar. It is face-to-face learning, distance learning, blended learning, and
homeschooling. The webinar also tackled the different teaching strategies to facilitate learning amidst
pandemic. We, teachers, cultivate student’s motivation by encouraging them to give their best
whenever they study. We should not rely on the typical class setup where we have to feed students
every information that they need or what we know as spoon-feeding. Teachers need to be creative and
be team players. I learned that as a teacher, we are changing the world even if we can’t see it. Being a
teacher will allow us to make a difference.
The second speaker discussed the lesson planning for BEED DLL. She highlighted that preparation is the
key to success and for us to be prepared, let us prepare to be prepared. Ma'am Viador discussed that a
Lesson plan is an aid to planning, a working document, and a record. The lesson Plan should be simple
and the script of the lesson should not be written in the lesson plan. In the lesson plan, we have these O
S L E A, the acronyms for the part of the lesson plan which are Objectives, Subject Matter, Learning
Procedure, Evaluation, and Assignment. She taught us that planning lessons increase a teacher’s chances
of carrying out a lesson successfully. Planning is a vital step in the instructional process. The DLL or Daily
Lesson Log was also discussed in the webinar. DLL has these objectives, content standards, performance
standards, and learning competencies. Even though we are in this new normal set up teaching should
not be spoon-feeding. The speaker also gave ICT tools to cope up with the new normal setup. These are
quizzes, canva, google forms, jam board, and kahoot. Lastly, she highlighted a quote “Begin with the
end in mind”. Have a plan ahead, set goals, be prepared, make the right choices, and think before you
act.

The lecture started with Mr. Carpio explaining to us that lesson plan is teachers guide for facilitating a
lesson. Its goal is what need students’ needs to learn; goal will be achieved how will be achieved. The
differences between Detailed Lesson Plan and Semi Detailed lesson plan were also discussed throughout
the webinar. Detailed lesson plan consists of Objective, Knowledge. Skills, Attitude, Subject Matter,
Learning Procedure, Evaluation and Assignment. If you have limited time, for example your class is only
one hour, motivations are not necessary because it is time consuming. The speaker also explained on
how to properly give assignments to students. First you need to assure that the students already learned
the lesson, if their answer is yes, you can give them assignment about the next lesson. Next is the Semi
detailed lesson plan. Semi detailed lesson plan consists of Objective, Subject Matter, Procedure, a.
Preparation, b. Review, c. Motivation, d. Lesson Proper/ guide questions, e. Application, f.
generalization, iv. Evaluation, and v. assignment. Mr. Carpio also discussed the formative and summary.
Formative assessment is conducted before the lesson while summary is after the lesson.
The last speaker of the 2nd day of webinar, Ms. Joanna Marie Baloloy Orbe’s lecture was about
classroom management. The lecture taught us the Ideal classroom and on how we should positively
impact on students’ success. We as teachers, it is important to check our behaviors towards our
students. We need to have a self-check of behaviors on how we deal with others. We are the role
models of the students. The ideal classroom set up is the students are deeply involved in class
participation with a relax and pleasant manner. We support student's learning by being consistent in
enforcing classroom rules because the respect of the student with the rules may lose if it is not being
applied consistently. As teachers, we should also establish professional relationships with students. The
teachers need skill to design in delivering lesson in the classroom. We need to introduce change and be
the change, create an active and motivational environment. The webinar also taught us on how to
manage disruptive behavior. We need to implement discipline, punishment and consequence.

Just like the previous speakers, Ms. Talusan also gave the definition of the lesson plan, according to her
slide lesson plan is the instructor’s road map of what students need to learn and how it will be done
effectively during class time. She also explained the major parts which are the objectives. Cognitive,
Affective, and Psychomotor. She showed us an example of objectives from her own lesson plan. Second,
the subject matter consists of a. Title b. Reference c. Materials. Third, the procedure of the lesson, the
teacher’s activity, and students’ activity are separated into two columns, and inside the columns are
what the students and teachers are going to do in the class. Next is the evaluation and last is the
assignment. The speaker also showed how to make a DLL or the Daily Lesson Log. The materials for
making DLL are, the teacher’s guide, learning guide. and k-12 curriculum guides. The DLL is separated
into six columns; are content, content standard, performance standard, learning competencies, code,
learning materials. The lecture also showed the Policy Guidelines on Daily Lesson Preparation for the K
TO 12 Basic Education Program or the DEPED ORDER NO. 42 S.2016. She ended her discussion with a
quote that reads “There’s no elevator to success. You have to take the stairs.
The objectives of the lecture about the lesson planning and DLL for BTLED are after the discussion the
students or the pre-service teachers will have an idea about the DLL, discuss the different factors that a
teacher must consider to plan his/her lessons well, and apply the knowledge learned in Creating and
crafting his/her own Lesson Plan/ Daily Lesson Log (DLL). He then asked us about the differences
between the normal and new normal education system. Both the normal and new normal education
system needs lesson planning. Just like the previous speakers, he also defined a lesson plan as the
teacher’s detailed description of the course of instruction, or learning trajectory for a lesson. The
webinar progressed like the previous ones where they explained the differences between DDL and DLP
and their parts. He finished his lecture by providing a quote “Teachers are not defined by the lesson
plan; they are defined by their passion”.

On the last day of the webinar, Ms. Cristina Meneses Mallari was the first speaker. She is a licensed
professional teacher from Bahay Pare National Highschool. The topic was about the same as the
previous speakers from day 1 to 3. The speaker's focus is Lesson Planning/DLL for BPED. She explained
the parts of the Lesson Plan and guide us on how to make it properly. She also explained the assessment
methods in the detailed lesson plan which is the formative assessment and explained to us how to apply
it in the classroom setup particularly in this new normal setup of education. She also explained the
WHLP or the Weekly Home Learning Plan. She also added the Individual Home Learning Monitoring Plan
even though it is not part of the Detailed Lesson Plan, she explained that it is part of the changes in this
learning mode. ILMP or the Individual Learning Monitoring Plan is for students who lag as shown from
the summative results for them to catch up with other students.
The last speaker of the four-day webinar was Mr. Marnick Gutierrez, a Master Teacher I at Parada
National High School in Parada, Sta. Maria, Bulacan. Just like the previous speakers he also explained the
different parts of the lesson plan and guided us in making DLL, DLP, and Semi detailed Lesson Plan. I was
very eager to listen particularly to this topic because it is related to my program. I learned a lot in this
session and it will surely benefit me in the long run as a future English teacher.
