5 - Description:
This utility converts Microsoft Excel files from original XL formats (XLS,
XLA, XLT, XLAM, XLSM, XLTM, XLSB, XLSX, XLTX) to EXE format. Like original XL
files, the EXE files created are not independent of Excel, but they allow you to
define Excel's properties before opening, and improve the portability and
functionality without macro alert. The conversion, moreover to maintain the
original format features, inclusive for editing thru the Excel, adds others
functionalities.
6 - Installation process:
No installation and no Windows register change are required to covert XL file
to EXE.
7 - Program functionality:
The XL file is compressed and wrapped in the XLtoEXE.exe as it is (appended)
and the resulting EXE (converted EXE) is a self extractor that can be auto update
using an internal EXE tool of same name self-extracted and executed in a subfolder
created temporarily in the Windows Temp folder. In the conversion, the original
names of the XLtoEXE.exe and its Temp tool, referred to here as XLtoEXEInTemp.exe,
are changed to the same name of the converted XL preserving the EXE extension. The
original VB6 compilations of the executables XLtoEXE.exe and XLtoEXEInTemp.exe
never are changed except in names or sizes when adding data in their binary files
in the conversion or in the auto-update when saving new data in the open XL in
Excel.
8 - Internal EXE tool:
File name: XLtoEXEInTemp.exe (At run time, it has the same name as the
XLtoEXE.exe have)
SHA256: 82a967dbd7b7421bc18f92b7ecb5a156e4887779ba521d49609d08b27a2c2634
