III. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Engr. Estabillo's company is expanding, and he believes there is already a need for four
more civil engineers. However, he is hesitant to make such a decision. This is because he feels
that because he supervises all of his subordinates, if he adds more individuals to his team, he
would become inefficient in managing his firm. Also, perhaps he believes that adding more
staff entails more payroll.

IV. POSSIBLE SOLUTION/S

1. As Engineer Estabillo is still hesitant to hire additional four civil engineers in full time
basis, he need to give more time to it and think deeply first about his decision.
2. Hire four additional civil engineers in full time as what he decided earlier.

V. PROS AND CONS

1. As Engineer Estabillo is still hesitant to hire additional four civil engineers in full time
basis, he need to give more time to it and think deeply first about his decision.

PROS

Thinking deeply and giving more time to decide in hiring additional four civil engineers in
full time basis will give him a time for him to assess things if there is really a need of hiring and
adding people to the company. This will lead him to create much effective decision because he can
think longer of what is the best thing to do for the company. He can weigh things and sort situations
in order longer for him to implement a decision whether to hire or not.

CONS

His company is expanding and growing in a fast pace and we all know that hiring additional
personal for the company is an effective move to handle the work in the company. If he need a lot
of time before he can decide if he will be hiring additional four civil engineer in full time basis,
maybe it will be too late for him and the work in the company will pile up because he lacks of
workforce. It can lead to more problems in the company.

in the workforce for his business. The work in the company will be divided and the burden in the
field of work will be lessen. Also, in can add more connections to other investors through these

handling them as well as in the company. Knowing the fact that he manages all of his manpower,
it might also be another problem to him on how he will efficiently and effectively manage his
business with quite a lot of personnel.

VI. RECOMMENDATIONS

It is very evident that Engineer Estabillo should take actions as soon as possible. He need
to decide things ahead of time before it’s too late. For him to decide and come up with a concrete
solution of what is the best for the company he need to consider the following areas of
considerations.

Areas of Considerations:

• External – the number of clients who demand and avail of the services of Engineer
Estabillo’s construction firm
• Internal – the demand for more manpower to perform all the tasks and operations in
the firm to serve all the needs of the clients

3. Possible Earning
• External – the money that the company will possibly gain if he decided to add four
full-time civil engineers

Moreover, if he really decided to hire additional workforce to his company, it is highly

recommended that he must hire one employee at a time. This is for him really make sure that he
will be able to lead his business efficiently. Also, Engineer Estabillo must work on his decision
making skills so that the next time he encounter things like these or problems and issues that are
unexpected he can come up to a faster and concrete solution beforehand.

VII. CONCLUSION

It is everyone's goal to have a truly successful business or to make an already successful

firm even more profitable. In the instance of Engr. Estabillo, he sees his firm expanding and
believes he has to hire more employees. However, before making a decision, he must consider all
of the possible outcomes. If he believes he would struggle to manage a bigger number of
employees, hiring more may not be a smart idea. If the issue is Engr. Estabillo's apprehension, the
greatest thing he can do to arrive at a truly good conclusion is to make it methodically.
