- Analysis is a retrospective investigation of why something happened whereas analytics


is more of a prospective model based on past and current data that is used to help make
business decisions.
- An example of analysis is when you use actual data to describe the performance of a
company during the year. An example of analytics, on the other hand, is when you find
trends using data on hand to create expectations/predictions about future performance.
