The Karachi Adventist Hospital, dedicated to the healing ministry, is an integral part of the

Seventh-day Adventist Church. It is registered as a non-profit charitable institution through the


Medical Educational Uplift Fund Association of Seventh-day Adventist and is completely
dependent upon its earnings and charitable contributions from within Pakistan, and upon
appropriations of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and charitable contributions from abroad.
Staffed with specialists, it provides most major medical care. In addition, the Hospital operates a
School of Nursing and Midwifery, a training program for Para-medical specialties and provides
health education for patients and the general public. KAH is a teaching hospital and our
graduates are presently serving throughout Pakistan and indeed throughout the world

HISTORY:

It was established early in 1947 by Dr. Robert Dunn as a small maternity clinic, which was built
up into a hospital and was officially opened in October 1951 by Begum Liaquat Ali Khan, wife
of the first Prime Minister of Pakistan. Staffed with specialists, it provides care for medical,
surgical, dental, obstetrical and pediatric patients.  It is also the hospital where the first open-
heart surgery in Pakistan was accomplished in 1963, by the Loma Linda University Medical
Team from Loma Linda, California in the United States.
  It is a 138 bed hospital, located on M.A. Jinnah Road, and for the last 60 years it has established
a reputation of excellence in curative services as the first private hospital in the city of Karachi.

Services Provided by Hospital

The Out-Patient Department and clinics are staffed by a comprehensive team of healthcare
professionals and administrative staffs, dedicated to provide high quality and caring
services.They have 24-hour urgent care services and residential (in-house) doctors in Family
Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Oncology, Pediatrics and
Radiology.
