DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE 7
Prepared by: Mylene S. Dizon
I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, at least 80% of the students with 90% proficient is able to:
1. State different precautionary measures in the laboratory to be observed.
2. Communicate safety in the laboratory through awareness of the different safety
procedures.
3. Practice caution and diligence in performing experiments to avoid accidents and
unnecessary injuries.

PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
Prayer (The students will mute mics and solemnly
pray.)
Class let start a day with a prayer. (Led by assign student)
______ kindly lead the prayer.
Greetings
-Good Morning Class! -Good Morning Ma’am!
-Good Morning Classmate!
Checking of attendance.
Now, let me check your attendance. I
want you to turn on your camera,
unmute your mics, say present and
state your surname as I call your name.
I will call you twice hoping that every
name I call will answer me so, you will
not be marked as absent.
Class are we clear? -Yes, Ma’am.
(Attendance)
-(The students will open cameras, unmute
mics, say present and state their name, as I
call them one by one.)
Discussing the online classroom rules.
B. MOTIVATION
Class, to start with our lesson, I will be showing
you a video of a common science laboratory in
school.
For now, just sit back, relax, observe and let me -(Students listening attentively.)
tour you to a science laboratory that presents
basic laboratory safety rules or procedures.
C. LESSON PROPER
-(Students watching and listening
1. PRESENTATION / DISCUSSION attentively.)
Tell me ‘What are the things you observe in -(Students will raise their hands/state their
the video? surname as they answer)
-(Some students may answer vary;)
- I observed that the teacher explains
laboratory safety rules to her students.
- The video shows dangerous situations
that a student may experience inside a
school laboratory.
-The video shows rules that students must
obey while inside the laboratory.
Exactly!
The video shows the laboratory safety
procedures as a guide for a student like you
to be safe while conducting laboratory
activities.
Now, What would be the most important
thing to consider while you are inside -(Some students may answer vary;)
the laboratory that was shown on the
video?
-We need to remember the laboratory
safety rules/procedures.
-I need to make sure that I follow the
teacher's instructions.
- Safety while conducting laboratory
activities must be prioritized.
-Be careful while working inside the science
laboratory.
Very Good!
Can you please give me some basic
safety rules/procedures stated in the -(Some students may answer vary;)
video that we must obey while conducting
laboratory activities.
-You need to tie back long hair.
-Eating and drinking are prohibited in
laboratories.
-Make sure that our clothes don’t get in the
way.
-Post a safety risk when conducting
experiments.
-If you break or spill any chemicals or
equipment, I must report to the teacher.
-Don’t taste chemicals unless the teacher
tells you.
-No playing around in the laboratory.
-Always wear safety goggles.
-Do not stand facing apparatus being
heated by Bunsen burner.
-Pay attention in an emergency.
-You must be aware of the location and use
of first aid and emergency facilities.
-Clear and clean up your tables and bench.
-Wash your hands before leaving the
laboratory.
Very Good Class!
All of your answers are correct, Now
let’s discuss them one by one.
