1V. Overview
A number of authors have propounded a variety of models identifying a series of tasks or
activities that need to be done to put forward the idea of a strategic management. Environmental scanning
covers a broader context as it involves evaluating, monitoring, and dissemination of information from the
external and internal environments to key people within the corporation. Macro environment includes all
forms of direct or indirect factors of overall environmental conditions. SWOT analysis focuses on the
strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the organization.

Business Policy and Drivers of Strategic Management

Part 1. Identification: (2 points each)

1. Pitts-Lei Model considers the importance of analysis of external and internal environment
before mission and policies are set.
