How To Run Outbreak Online - Ali'S Very Easy No Bullshit-Ridden Tutorial
When I first started playing Outbreak online, I had a toaster of a computer I’ve owned since
2005 with no Video Graphics card and you know what? It ran just fine. If I could run Outbreak
online with such shitty specs, there’s no way you can’t do it.
Now, go the folder you’ve extracted the file to and Run “Outbreak” or, alternatively, go to the
PCSX2 folder and run “pcsx2.exe”. Both will do the same thing: open the PCSX2 emulator.
After you’ve done that, the emulator window shall open. Before running Outbreak, you might
wanna choose which of the games you want to run, Outbreak File #1 or File #2. To do that, go
to CDVD -> ISO Selector -> Biohazard - Outbreak.iso or Biohazard - Outbreak - File 2.iso
After you choose which Outbreak you want to run, simply go to System -> Boot ISO (fast) and
congratulations, you are now playing Resident Evil: Outbreak on your PC!
DEFAULT CONTROLS
By default, I’ve configured the emulator with an Xbox controller to play as if it were a PS2
controller. Keyboard commands are highlighted in YELLOW.
PLAYING OUTBREAK ONLINE
Now, here comes the fun part. Before you can play Outbreak online, you need to make an
account on OBSRV.ORG, so do that. Go to the website, click on Register and follow the
instructions from there.
After you’ve made an account on OBSRV.ORG, go back to the emulator and run Outbreak. Go
back to the Main Title screen, select NETWORK PLAY and press Circle, as well as on the next
screen.
Upon being prompted with your NET file, select “YES” and press Circle to go to the next screen.
After that, select “PREVIOUS CONNECTION” and press Circle.
When prompted, select “NEXT” and press Circle. After being told your configuration file has
been loaded, press Circle again.
After this point, you should see a bunch of loading screens. Please, wait until they all reach
100%, in the end, you’ll be rewarded with this screen, signifying you’re ready to go online:
You can either type your credentials from your OBSRV.ORG account or log in the website, so
the game can automatically let you login without typing anything with a PS2 controller. Move
the cursor to “Auto login through chat” and press Circle on “LOGIN”. Wait for a while, and
after the game tells you your login has been successful, press Circle on “Enter lobbies”.
If you’ve never played Outbreak online before, you’ll be met with a “Terms of Service”-esque
kind of screen. In which case, in the first screen, select the OPTION ON THE RIGHT and press
Circle.
After that, the game will prompt you to create a Display Name for your online matches. This
has nothing to do with your OBSRV.ORG account, this is just the way you’ll be known in the
game lobbies, nothing else. Type anything you’d like and, once you’re finished, press START.
When the game prompts you about if you’re sure, select the OPTION ON THE LEFT and press
Circle to confirm.
After you’re done creating a Display Name for yourself, it’s time to get into the online lobbies.
In File #1, you’ll see two lobbies: East Town and West Town. NEVER CHOOSE EAST TOWN,
nobody ever plays there and the way to get new players is very broken. Press right to go to
West Town and press Circle to confirm.
.
From this point on, I’m pretty sure you’ll learn how to handle yourself. If you’ve ever been to
an online game, the interface is pretty easy to learn. Have fun playing online! ;)
In case of the graphics, you can actually upscale the game by switching the Renderer to
Hardware and adjusting the Internal Resolution of the plugin. My favorite is x2 Native.
OTHER STUFF – 100% COMPLETION SAVE
If you don’t want to experience Outbreak and unlock all scenarios, difficulties and character
skins by yourself, I’ve included a 100% Completion Save with everything unlocked from the
get-go, along with File #3 exclusive characters. Courtesy of leotreves from OBSRV.ORG.
To switch to the 100% Memory Card, open the emulator and go to Config -> Memory Cards.
From there, select “Complete.ps2” on the Unused Memory Card list and click on “Insert”.
Then, select “Port 1” and then Click on “OK” until you go back to the main screen.
Now, all you need to do is run Outbreak normally, and you’ll be able to enjoy all scenarios and
characters that you’d only get through a GameShark cheat unlocked from the get-go. ;)
WARNING: DOING THIS WILL RESET YOUR ONLINE PLAY DATA, BUT IS OTHERWISE SAFE.
