1. Create Step by Step installation of window operating system (Windows 10) provide screenshots
and detailed descriptions.
PART 1: Booting to the Windows 10 Installer
a. Make sure your Windows 10 installation media is connected. In order for you to install
Windows 10, your Windows 10 installation file must be loaded onto a disc or flash drive, and
the disc or flash drive must be inserted into your computer.

b. Open the Start menu. Either


click the Windows icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen, or press the ⊞ Win key.

c. Click the power icon. This is the circle with a line through its top that's in the bottom-left
corner of the Start window.

d. Click Restart. It's in the pop-up menu above the power icon. Doing so will restart your
computer.

e. Press and hold  Del  or  F2  to enter setup. This key may also be a different key—most
computers will display a message on startup that says "Press [key] to enter setup" or
something similar, so look for this message when your computer restarts to confirm the key
you should press to access the BIOS.

f. Navigate to the Boot tab. You'll use the arrow keys to select it.


 The Boot tab may instead say Boot Options, depending on your computer's
manufacturer.

g. Select a device from which to boot. You have a couple of options here:


 For a USB flash drive, select the Removable Devices option.
 For a disc installation, select the CD-ROM Drive option.

h. Press the  +  key until your boot option is first. Once either Removable Devices or CD-
ROM Drive is at the top of the list, your computer will select your choice as its default boot
option.

i. Save your settings. You should see a key prompt (e.g.,  F10 ) at the bottom of the screen
that correlates to "Save and Exit"; pressing it should save your settings and restart your
computer.
 You may have to press ↵  Enter  to confirm the changes.

j. Wait for your computer to restart. Once your computer finishes restarting, you'll see a
window here with your geographical data. You're now ready to begin setting up your
Windows 10 installation.

PART 2: INSTALLING

a. Click Next when prompted. You can also change the options on this page (e.g., the setup
language) before continuing if need be.

b. Click Install Now. It's in the middle of the window.

Windows 10 key, then click Next. If you don't have a Windows 10 key, instead
click Skip in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

"Accept" box and click Next. This will indicate that you accept the terms of use.

f. Wait for Windows 10 to install. This process may take anywhere from half an hour to
several hours, depending on your computer's previous operating system and processing
speed.

g. Follow the on-screen setup instructions. Once Windows 10 has been installed on your
computer, you'll be able to customize its settings (e.g., your region, your preferred language,
location settings, etc.). Once you finish this process, you will be taken to your computer's
desktop.

2. Create step by step configuration on how to create Restore Point in Windows 10 provide
screenshots and detailed descriptions.
Step 1. Open the System Properties window. Two ways to do it.

 Right-click My Computer/This PC > click Properties > click System protection


on the pop-up window.
 Type "create a restore point" in the search box and select it from the list of results
> click System Protection tab.
Step 2. Click Configure button > enable Turn on system protection > you can use the slider to
change the amount of space it uses (5% to 10% is usually sufficient) > click OK to confirm.

Now you have turned on the System Protection, and Windows 10 will create a system restore point
automatically when system changes are made.

Step 3. If you want to manually create a restore point right now, you can return to the System
Properties window and click Create > name the restore point and then click Create.

◆ If you have problem with using it, find solutions to fix cannot create a system restore point.
◆ You can also follow these steps to create Windows 8 restore point or Windows 7 restore point.

3. Create Step by Step installation of antivirus software provide screenshots and detailed
descriptions.

a. Understand the need for an antivirus program. Windows is the most virus-prone


operating system (OS) out of the three major OSes. It has the most users and the weakest
built-in security. Antivirus programs will defend your computer from malware that comes
through email, flash drives, downloads, websites and more.

b. Acquire an antivirus program. There are several popular free options available that do
a good job of protecting the average user. These programs are updated frequently with
new virus definitions that recognize the latest threats.

 If you frequently deal with files or websites that are virus-infected, you may want
to opt for more powerful paid protection. Paid antivirus programs are typically
available for a yearly subscription fee.

 When downloading free or paid antivirus programs, ensure that you are
downloading from a trusted source. There are many programs out there that
claim to be antivirus/antimalware but instead install malware themselves. Read
reviews and download products from companies that have been around for a long
time.

 Windows 10 and 8 have Windows Defender, which is a free anti-malware


application provided by Microsoft. It's already built-in.

c. Install the antivirus program. Make sure that no other programs are running while you
install the antivirus. You will most likely need to be connected to the internet to
download additional files and updates.

 Some free antivirus programs come packaged with toolbars for your web
browser. These can add protection but also change your search options and bog
down older computers. You have the opportunity to opt out of these changes
during the installation process.

d. Update the program. After the installation is complete, reboot your computer and
update the program. The file that you downloaded is likely not the most up to date
version, so you will need to connect to your antivirus program’s servers and download
the latest updates. Most antivirus programs allow you to right-click on the icon in the
System Tray while it is running and click Update.

 Update your definitions on a weekly basis. Most antivirus programs are set to
automatically update. Double check the settings for your program to ensure that
you are receiving the necessary updates.

e. Scan your computer. Once you have the program installed and updated, it’s time to scan
your computer. This could take several hours, depending on the number of files being
scanned and your computer’s speed.

Set a
scan schedule. Antivirus programs are most effective when they are automated. Open
your antivirus program’s settings and look for the Schedule option. Try to schedule a
time when your computer will be on but you won’t be using it. Ideally you should be
scanning once a week; scan more frequently if you deal with potentially infected files on
a regular basis.

g. Keep Windows updated. The best way to keep your computer protected is to always
make sure that your copy of Windows is up to date. Microsoft releases security updates
for Windows on a regular basis, fixing exploitable areas of Windows.

4. Create step by step configuration of Local Area Network (LAN) connection provide screenshots
and detailed descriptions.

a. Count the number of computers you need to hardwire. When setting up a LAN, you'll
need to know how many computers will be connecting to the network via Ethernet. This
will determine the number of ports you'll need.

 If you have four or less computers that you need to hardwire, you'll just need a
router. If you have more than four, you'll likely need to get a switch to extend the
number of ports available on your router.
b. Decide if you want to create a wireless network. If you want to allow devices to
connect wirelessly, you'll need a router that can broadcast a wireless network. Most
routers you'll find at the store or online have wireless capabilities.

 Network switches do not allow wireless devices to connect, and can only be used
for hardwired LANs or to extend the number of ports available to the router.
c. Determine if you want all network devices to have internet access. If you want all of
the connected devices to have access to the internet, you'll need a router to handle the
connections. If you don't need the devices to have a network connection, you can just use
a network switch.

d. Measure the distances for all hardwired devices. This isn't much of an issue in most
homes, but network cables cannot run longer than 100m (328 ft). If you have to run cable
farther than this, you'll need switches in between.

e. Consider your future needs. If you're filling all of the ports on your hardware, consider
future-proofing to allow for more devices in the future.

a. Gather your network hardware. To create a LAN, you'll need a router or switch, which
will act as the hub of your network. These devices route information to the correct
computers.
 A router will automatically handle assigning IP addresses to each device on the
network, and is necessary if you intend to share your internet connection with all
the connected devices. It is highly recommended that you build your network
with a router, even if you're not sharing an internet connection.
 A network switch is like a simpler version of a router. It will allow connected
devices to talk to each other, but will not automatically assign IP addresses and
will not share an internet connection. Switches are best used to expand the
number of LAN ports available on the network, as they can be connected to the
router.

b. Set up your router. You don't need to do much to set up a router for a basic LAN. Just
plug it into a power source, preferably close to your modem if you plan on sharing the
internet connection through it.

c. Connect your modem to your router (if necessary). If you're sharing the internet
connection from your modem, connect the modem to the WAN/INTERNET port on the
router. This is usually a different color from the other ports.

d.
Connect your switch to your router (if necessary). If you're using a switch to expand the
number of ports available on the router, plug an Ethernet cable into any LAN port on the
router and any LAN port on the switch. This will expand the network to the rest of the
LAN ports on the switch.

e. Connect your computers to open LAN ports. Use Ethernet cables to connect each
computer to an open LAN port on your router or switch. It doesn't matter what order the
ports are connected in.

 Ethernet cables cannot reliably transfer data at lengths larger than 100m (328 ft).

f. Setup one PC as a DHCP server if you're just using a switch. If you're only using a
switch as your network hub, setting up one computer as a DHCP (Dynamic Host

Configuration Protocol) server will allow all of the connected computers to easily obtain
IP addresses.

 You can quickly create a DHCP server on one of your computers by installing a
third-party utility.

 The rest of the computers on the network will obtain IP addresses automatically
once the server is running, as long as they are set to do so.

g. Verify the network connection on each computer. After each computer obtains an IP


address, they'll be able to talk to each other on the network. If you're using a router to
share your internet connection, each computer will be able to access the internet.

h. Set up file and printer sharing. Once your network is up, you won't see anything on
other computers unless that computer has shared files. You can designate files, folders,
drives, printers, and other devices as shared so that anyone on the network, or just
specific users, can access them.

a. Set up your router. When you're setting up a wireless router, you'll need to keep a few
things in mind:

 For easy troubleshooting, the router should usually be placed close to your
modem.

 It should be located centrally to allow for maximum wireless coverage.

 You'll need to connect a computer to the router via Ethernet during the setup
process

b. Plug a computer into one of the router's LAN ports. You'll be using your computer's
web browser to configure the router's wireless network.

c. Open a web browser on your computer. You can use any web browser.

d. Type in the router's IP address. You can typically find this printed on the bottom of the
router, or in your router's documentation. If you can't find it, there are a couple things you
can try:

 Windows - Right-click the Network button in the System Tray → click Open
Network and Sharing Center → click the Ethernet link → click Details → find the
Default Gateway entry for your router's IP address.

 Mac - Click the Apple menu and select System Preferences → click Network →
click your Ethernet connection → find the Router entry for your router's IP address.

e. Log in with the administrator account. You'll be prompted for the login information
for your router. The default login information varies depending on your router model, but
the username is often "admin" and the password is often "admin," "password," or blank.

pen the Wireless section of the router settings. The exact location and wording of this
section varies from router to router.

g. Change the name of your network in the SSID field. This may also be called "Network
name." This is the name that appears in the list of available wireless networks.

h. Select WPA2-Personal as the Authentication or Security option. This is the most


secure option currently available on most routers. Avoid WPA and WEP except when
explicitly required by older, incompatible devices.

i. Create a strong password. This password will be required in order to connect to the


network. The field may be labeled "Pre-Shared Key."

j. Ensure the wireless network is enabled. Depending on the router, you may have to
check a box or click a button at the top of the Wireless menu to enable the wireless
network.

k. Click the Save or Apply button. This will save the changes to your router.

l. Wait while your router restarts. It may take a minute for the router and network to
come back online.

m.

Connect to the wireless network on your wireless devices. Once the network is back up, it
will appear on the available network list on any wireless devices in range. When
connecting to the network, users will be prompted to enter the password you created.

 Computers connected to the router via Ethernet will not require a password.
