Hobbies and skills I learned in

lockdown

The period of lockdown is beneficial for students to pursue

their hobbies and try out new things. Likewise, I also picked
up a hobby.
I tried painting which I have not excelled in yet but whats the
harm in trying . The lockdown period has given me time to
pursue this hobby. Besides, I also learnt to cook some things
though cooking is not my hobby but it would certainly help
me at some time in life. Another thing is that I got to spend
more time with my parents which intensified the intimacy of
my bonding with my parents. In my opinion, to be free to talk
with your parents is very crucial for being successful in life as
they are our first guides and our closest relations. Thus, I
would like to conclude by saying that the lockdown had a
severe impact on humanity yet it has produced some positive
outcomes for students like me which will surely help us to
excel in life.
2.Importance of Learning through
Experience
“Learning is experience. Everything else is just information”
these words by albert einstein tells us just how important
learning thru experiences is.
Students may struggle to grasp concepts that don't pertain
to the “real world.” With experiential learning, students are
given the opportunity to apply data and ideas in a real-world
situation where they too play an active role. As the student
interacts with the information, it becomes real to them.
Moreover, By engaging students in hands-on experiences and
reflection, they are better able to connect theories and
knowledge learned in the classroom to real-world situations .
Their mistakes later become valuable experiences to them.
Over the years, experiential learning has proven to have a
wide range of benefits that contribute to a child's
development.
Finally I wud like to conclude by saying that ,There can be a
number of experiences we come across in our lives, but it is
up to us to decipher the good and the bad.
3.Social Media ethics

The fast moving era also influence the technology growth.

Nowadays almost everyone can share information and
communicate directly by using social media through internet
which saves more time and cost.

Indeed, users have freedom in using social media to

communicate with anyone. What is ignored here is the ethics
in using it. It would be much better if users know what ethics
should be noticed when using social networking.

Ethics, by definition, is the concept of what is good, bad, right

and wrong. In social media, the right ethic equals the right
perspective and the right thinking on how to leverage social
media appropriately and how to engage people in the right
manner.
As an effort to reduce the problem in using social media,
ethical conduct is needed to prevent from mutually insulting
or accusing others for no apparent reason. As a matter of
fact, these matters will lead the users into law for being
careless in spreading information on the internet.
4. Online Exams: Merits and Demerits
It is rightly said that “Every advantage has a disadvantage”
and this is applicable to online exams as well as it has its own
merits and demerits.
The Pandemic has been a challenging time for everyone, from
school to college to office goers. While we adapt ourselves to
the “newness”, one or another situation comes up that
needs to be dealt with. In the present scenario, as we
become accustomed to the “New Normal”, we all have been
trying to shift most things to the screen and even conduct
online exams.
There are many advantages of online examination systems –
they are secure, customizable, reliable, highly interactive,
reduced turnaround time and accessible via various devices.
In addition to that online examinations are Environment-
Friendly, Economical, Easy-to-use and has Autograding.
But on the other hand there are certain demerits to online
exams which includes Challenges in Technology Adoption
Infrastructural Barriers, Difficulty in Grading Long-answer
Type, use of unfair means,Transitioning to Open-Book Exams.
However, choosing the right online examination platform can
help you avert such drawbacks.
5.Importance of value education
William Ralph has rightly said that, “The aim of education is
knowledge not of facts but of values”.
Youngsters today move through a gruelling education
system that goes on almost unendingly. Right from when
parents send them to kindergarten at a tender age of 4 or
5 to completing their graduation, there is a constant
barrage of information hurled at them.
They know ‘how’ to do something but fail to answer the
‘why’. They spend their whole childhood and young age
without discovering the real meaning of education. This is
where the importance of value education should be
established in their life.
Value-based education aims at training the student to
face the outer world with the right attitude and values. It
is a process of overall personality development of a
student. It includes character development, personality
development, citizenship development, and spiritual
development.

6.Hard work vs smart work
Working smart doesn’t mean working less. It means
working hard on what truly matters.
We are always taught that working hard can help us
achieve our dreams and aspirations. But finding what’s
better between hard work or smart work is quite a
debate.
I believe that hard work and smart work are both
essential to bring effectiveness and efficiency to a task.
While hard work makes sure that we are putting in the
hours needed to accomplish certain things within time,
smart work focuses on bifurcating the quintessential
factors like who is the best person to do a particular
task, when is the right time for doing it and what kind of
hurdles we can anticipate.
So, when blended together, we can find the best way to
successfully complete a set task within time and
ensuring its optimum quality.
7. Importance of Time Management
for Students

William penn has said that “Time is what we want the

most and what we use the worst”. Time management
for student has become a crucial need since most of
them do not how to manage time properly .

Effective time management allows students to complete

more in less time, because their attention is focused and
they’re not wasting time on distractions (such as social
media). Efficient use of time also reduces stress, as students
tick off items from their to-do list. It can also provide a sense
of achievement from fulfilling goals. For example, they might
plan to complete an assignment by Friday so they can see
friends on the weekend.
Furthermore, by using time efficiently, students can complete
their work on time, stay engaged with their learning, and
have more time free for pursuing activities that are important
to them, such as sports, hobbies, youth group and spending
time with friends and family.

Good time management allows students to make the most of

their abilities and enjoy the satisfaction of accomplishment. It
is also one of the most desirable skills for employment.
1.SINCERITY AND DEDICATION PROVIDES
SUCCESS
‘’Genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent
perspiration’’ Dedication combined with sincerity is the only
key to open the door of success. It is an undoubted fact that
sincerity and dedication is the key to success.

We reap what we sow. Procrastination, laziness, and

counting on luck will bear no fruits in our life. Right through
the ages, we find that great men and women the world over,
have worked hard to achieve success.

Edison, who invented the electric bulb, worked twenty-one

hours a day; Florence Nightingale, who revolutionized
modern nursing, supervised her staff during the day and did
extensive research on medicine during the night.

Through these examples we know how dedicated and sincere

they were. Their success was not given to them on a silver
platter.

So, if you want to fulfill your ambitions, work hard and do not
be frightened by a failure. Failure is nothing but an
opportunity for you to try again-maybe a bit harder this time.
You must make full use of your talents and remember that
success can only be achieved by dedication and sincerity. For
There is no shortcut to success . I would like conclude by
saying that ‘’Dedication and Sincerity are the ingredients
needed to cook the meal of success. All you have to do is put
them together in the right manner and with a little salt of
luck, you will surely taste the delights of achievement.’’

9. BETTER TO BE ALONE THAN IN A BAD

COMPANY
A man is said to be known by the company he keeps. Saint
Augustine once said, ’’Bad company is like a nail driven into a
post, which after the first and second blow maybe drawn out
with a little difficulty but being once driven up to the head,
the pincers cant take hold to draw it out but which can only
be done by the destruction of the wood’’.

Just as the dirt spoils your clothes likewise a bad company

spoils your character. In a bad company , the whole outlook
of a person changes. Life is short and should be lived in the
best way possible, if one gets to waste his time in bad
company then the purpose of this little life is lost.

After all , What is the point of being with someone who

makes one feel insecure and unworthy ? It is therefore
desirable that if one cannot find a good company he should
remain alone. Bad company will always hold you back from
being your happy self. No matter how strong you are, bad
company will always leave a negative.
10. HABIT OF READING NEVER LEAVES US
ALONE
As the time-tested phrase says, ’’Books are our friends’’ and
with friends we never feel alone. Books make the reader
knowledgeable as well as an experienced person.

We’ll never undergo loneliness, whenever we are

surrounded by books. For a reader, books are like splendid
chums, which pass the time and teach various things.
Reading improves our vocabulary and speaking skills.
Reading also makes us a superior writer.

Reading never let us feel alone. As the famous writer

C.S.Lewis said, “We read to know that we are not alone.”
Even if a person lives by himself, he can entertain himself by
reading various sort of books.

Reading books also reduce stress by taking us into another

realm of imagination. It helps us explore our lives from
various perspectives. Reading books enhance our mood by
bringing a change in our notions. Good books always come
up with the best advice and guide us to the best possible
paths of life. Reading books also help a person develop his
thoughts and express his opinions easily. New ideas about
diverse things with discrete perspectives pop-up
automatically in the mind of an active reader. I would like to
conclude by quoting what Jim Rohn once said . ‘’ Reading is
essential for those who seek to rise above the ordinary.”
