3. Operating principles
This product is used to send chemical solution inside a syringe continuously at the specified flow rate (mL/h), based on the
syringe barrel pump method. Solution flow control is performed by a microcomputer that processes information and
controls motor rotation signals. The motors push the plunger inside the syringe and send solution through sliders and other
parts.

5. Replacement Parts

1. Parts requiring periodical replacement

Periodical replacement parts

Periodical replacement parts are those which deteriorate and wear gradually over time after their initial use, and require
replacement on a regular basis to maintain the accuracy and performance of the equipment. The following parts will
need to be replaced in accordance with the years elapsed since the initial use.

Parts Code Parts Name Elapsed Time Reason for Replacement

Even when charged, after a short period of time
06PT5001 Battery 2.5~3 years “Battery alarm” is displayed and the buzzer
sounds.
The Power Failure alarm does not function
06PT5014 Sub Battery 1~2 years
properly.

Note ●Time of replacement may vary, and in some cases other parts may also require replacement, depending on the
frequency and environment of use.
●The service life of this product is 6 years when maintenance and inspection are conducted, and consumables are
replaced as specified(self-certified). This is based on the assumption that the product is used in a standard
manner. Those exceeding the service life will require inspection and repair work including a comprehensive
parts replacement.
●We retain periodical replacement parts and service parts for 8 years after the termination of manufacture of the
product. Some are off-the-shelf items, however, and those which have long been on the market may become
unavailable prior to the expiration of this period due to discontinued production by the parts manufacturer.

The product (or in some cases, on the packaging of the product) bears a label shown on the left. It
indicates that the parts used for the product (e.g. battery, cord) need to be “collected separately” as
classified waste material. Be sure to dispose of them properly in accordance with the disposal rules
of respectable districts.

3. Inspection procedure

*Record the following setting before beginning inspection.

・Occlusion pressure setting value
・VTBI setting

3.1 Electrical safety inspection

(1) Leakage current tests

* Set the leakage current tester to the setting corresponding to "IEC 60601-1 (2005) 3rd".
For measurement, follow the instruction manual of the leakage current tester.
*In this test, attach any compatible disposable syringe that has been filled with water, and conduct measurement by
driving at the maximum flow rate.

[1] Earth leakage current test

Use the leakage current tester and connect AC100 to 240V to the main unit. Then measure the leakage current
between the power input terminal (N, L) and protective earth blade (GND) in the normal status and single fault
condition.
● Normal status : 0.5mA or less
● Single fault condition : 1.0mA or less

[2] Touch current test

Use the leakage current tester and connect AC100 to 240V and the internal power supply to the main unit. Then
measure the leakage current between the main unit’s external metal part (handle part) and ground (protective
earth blade [GND]) in the normal status and single fault status.
In the same way, when driven by the battery, the higher value is assumed to be the leakage current value.
● Normal status : 0.1mA or less
● Single fault condition : 0.5mA or less

4) Connect the AC power cable and make sure that the AC connecting icon [ ] and the battery charged

level/remaining level icon appear alternately with [ ] in the LCD.

[1] There are no feelings of looseness at the time of connecting AC power cable.

5) When the 5mL, 10mL, 20mL, 30mL, and 50/60mL made by the setting syringe manufacturer are set, each one
must be detected. Also, when the flange of the syringes is set without putting a flange holder (flange detection

part), the syringe detection icon [ ] must appear.

6) When the slider is pushed through without setting the syringe, the [Nearly empty alarm] and the nearly empty icon

[ ] must appear in the LCD, and the buzzer sounds.

7) Remove the slider from the plunger while the device operates and make sure that [Plunger displacement alarm]

and the Clutch icon [ ] appear in the LCD, and the buzzer must sound.

8) Set the syringe and make sure that an arbitrary flow rate can be set by setting dial manipulation, and press the
[Start] and [Stop] switches and make sure that the following operations are done.
[1] When the [Start] switch is pressed, the operation indicator must flash in green.
[2] When the [Stop] switch is pressed, flashing must disappear.

9) Set the date and time.

[1] Hold down the "Back/Mute" and "Display select" switches together until the menu screen appears. Select the
[Date/time] tab and press the "Confirmation switch".
・The currently set year, month, day, hour and minute must be displayed.

3.3 Accuracy inspection

(1) Occlusion detection inspection

If occlusion detection is checked as periodic inspection, perform the inspection according to the following procedure.

[Inspection method]
[1] Connect the 50 mL syringe and the pressure gauge by using a tube, etc. (about 50 cm).
[2] Hold the clutch and move it until the slider touches the plunger of the syringe.
[3] Turn the power on and set up the flow rate and the set value of occlusion pressure as in the table below.
(Regarding how to change the set value of occlusion pressure, refer to the [section4 Description of modes])
[4] Press the "Start switch" and make the pump function until the occlusion alarm occurs and the operation is
stopped.
[5] Record the occlusion pressure when the occlusion alarm occurs, and make sure that the value is within the range
of occlusion detection pressure values

* In the same way, perform inspection for other occlusion settings.

Flow rate Set value of Distance from pump to Occlusion detection

setting occlusion pressure pressure gauge pressure value
9 110±25 [kPa]
100mL/h 6 Approx. 50cm 70±15 [kPa]
4 40±15 [kPa]

(2) Inspection for flow rate accuracy

measuring cup.
[4] Press the "Start switch" and start the stopwatch simultaneously, and press the "Stop switch" after two minutes to
stop the operation.
[5] Calculate the volume from the measured weight of water and the specific gravity (approx. 0.998g/mL at 23°C),
and make sure that the water fed volume is within the specified value.

[Volume] mL = [Measured weight] /[Specific gravity]

Flow rate setting Syringe size Measurement time Specified value
